Evacuating troops

I'm playing a Burma scenario in which one objective is to evacuate an Indian division. There are blue rectangles with arrows
projecting from their sides which would indicate they have something to do with this requirement. However, I can't figure out what to do. Anybody have any advice ?

British India is controled by AI. The British India units will seek the path themselves to the Exit Locations. You have to protect them...
