A NEW PLANET - A NEW STORY
The planet of Ghutana hosts the Federation’s most advanced research programs. The desolate world - and its Arachnid colonies - are ideally suited for testing our latest chemical, radiation and biological weapons.
Doctor Kraus, the lead scientist of the R&D department on Ghutana, has demanded military assistance to support his work. Ultimately, he intends to proceed with the “Hercules Program” - his most ambitious project, with the ultimate goal of capturing a very specific Arachnid specimen: the monstrous Hydra.
This DLC features the first story campaign built entirely around Territory Mode mechanics: Capture and hold Territory Points to gain resources, then spend them to unlock technologies, deploy new units, and construct defenses—all while fighting an Arachnid AI that adapts its behavior dynamically based on your decisions and performance.
TAKE CONTROL OF THE BUGS
Show the Bugs who’s in charge—now more literally than ever before! Groundbreaking pheromonal and mind-control research allows you to deploy and control your own Arachnid hordes on the battlefield through new units and abilities:
- Horde Handlers: These specialists direct a pack of "drugged" Bugs, biochemically manipulated to fight on your side. Fire poison darts to neutralize hostile Arachnids, or violently terminate your own herd using built-in explosive charges.
- Bug Cages: Construct these defensive structures to release biochemically reprogrammed Arachnids against attacking hostiles.
- Pheromone Disruptor Grenades: Throw these into the midst of a horde for instant "Bug-on-Bug" action! Arachnids affected by the toxic nerve agent will turn against any Bugs untouched by the substance.
- XM9-B Overseer: This heavy biped can launch "Pheromone Disruptor" darts and "Deep Intelligence Manipulator" darts, which are used to take direct control over the larger Arachnid specimens.
- Drone Drop Pod: Deploy this pod from orbit to unleash your own loyal horde of Drone Bugs!
CHEMICAL & RADIATION WEAPONS
The Federation has also authorized the use of new weaponry based on experimental chemical and radiation technology:
- Hazmat Troopers: Equipped with acid-based grenades to defeat medium-armored targets. Their specialized suits offer protection against chemical and radiation hazards.
- XM3-C Alchemist: A lightly armored biped that unleashes a cocktail of deadly chemical weapons. It can also construct defensive turrets.
- XM3-A Raycaster: This biped fires highly concentrated radiation beams over long distances to neutralize ranged Bugs and can call down reinforcements.
- Missile Specialists: This squad is equipped with multi-barreled rocket launchers and can call in strikes of various long range missile types from nearby Missile Silos.
- Fortis E-Pulse 92 Troopers: These units fire explosive electromagnetically-accelerated projectiles and can deploy powerful E-Pulse cannons to hold the line.
- Powered Suit Irradiators: The prototype weapons these troopers carry emit lethal radiation bursts that pierce through multiple enemies.
- XM11-K Annihilator: An experimental configuration of the M11 Marauder biped equipped with a high-output radiation weapon, dual missile launchers, and a nuclear reactor that boosts the performance of nearby Irradiator weapons.
NEW ARACHNIDS
The harsh, polluted environment of Ghutana has birthed dangerous new Arachnid variants:
- Buzzer Drone: A small variant bred for speed and chaos. When an enemy is detected, it uses its wings to dash across the terrain at great speed.
- Geiger Bug: A sickly, heavily mutated Arachnid that detonates upon attacking—or upon death—releasing a massive shockwave of radiation.
- Acid Grenadier: A large, well-armored Bug that launches globs of volatile acid. Curiously, some globs contain live Buzzer Drones that instantly engage enemies upon impact.
- The Hydra: A massive, heavily armored, and extremely dangerous specimen capable of laying down deadly barrages of corrosive acid. If encountered, contact Doctor Kraus immediately.
NEW TERRITORY MODE CONTENT
Every unit, technology, and ability the Eradicators bring to the story campaign is also available for standalone Territory Mode missions.
As with any other Territory Mode Battle Group, you can unlock new cosmetics and play missions on planets from any other DLC you own (as well as the base game’s planet, Kwalasha). Additionally, you can now play Territory Mode missions on the new planet, Ghutana, with all other Battle Groups.
