Campaign Series: Vietnam 1948-1967 is a turn-based tactical and operational war game that immerses players in the conflicts of Southeast Asia, covering the French Indochina War, the Vietnamese Civil War, and the early years of U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
The game features historically accurate battles from 1948 to 1967, played on detailed 250-meter hex-grid maps with seven view modes. Scenarios include firebase defenses, helicopter air assaults, trench warfare, armored breakthroughs, battles of attrition, and search-and-destroy missions.
The Campaign Series Event Engine enhances gameplay with Scripted AI, delivering dynamic engagements, and an Event Points system, rewarding players for achieving mission objectives beyond mere destruction and territory control. Adaptive AI adjusts game parameters based on nation, year, and scenario, providing a more immersive solo play experience.
New players can start with four Boot Camp scenarios featuring step-by-step instructions. Other scenarios scale from small skirmishes to large-scale battles spanning dozens of turns. Multiplayer options include PBEM, head-to-head, hot-seat, and real-time LAN play.
The game includes a full suite of editors for custom scenario creation and a vast library of historically accurate master maps. The latest 2.00 update expands the timeline, introducing 1968 Tet Offensive battles and Laos 1971 engagements. Future updates will further extend the content through 1985, covering the later years of the Vietnam War and other Southeast Asian conflicts.
