... AND LASTLY, XBACKG# FILES PART 3... Sorry I had to do it this way, otherwise the files were too large to upload.

Please remember that all of these sound files replace the same named sound files, so consider well! I hope I did some good

with all this...

Here's an extra graphic you might consider for the WW I MOD; Where, the "Loaded" graphic for the Germans has the STAHLHELM instead of the PICKELHAUBE helmet. Just drop it into the WW I folder which replaces the existing icons2d graphic...

Created another scenario, this one purely by accident; I did the RANDOM SCENARIO BUILDER with the U.S. and Germans and started to tweak the .org,map and lastly the scen. file itself to come up with this LAST HURRAH winter scenario. It deals with the U.S. and French moving on a German trench system in the last days before the Armistice and the Germans giving them one last surprise fight, hence the name "last Hurrah". Unfortunately, I had to include the RANDOM0 files in order to make the scenario work, but it works well as H2H, or in any other mode. So here goes...and Enjoy!

Hi Warhorse! I thought I'd share my first attempt to reproduce some of Rommel's experiences. Although this one is hypothetical, it is reminiscent of many of his early war operations as related in his "Attacks." Please let me know your thoughts. Of course, I need to know how to post it or send it to you. Minor detail I just realized after writing this post!

Thanks!

For those interested, I've "enhanced" the vehicle (tanks & trucks) icon files of the main antagonists of WW I.
The Central powers have their Iron crosses and the Allied Powers have their (mostly) roundels. I know that some of these may be "oversized"
for some vehicles, but they still serve well as identifiers if your not using the Base Icons...Enjoy!

Sorry, I just saw this, just got back on my feet with the computer thing, been a rough couple weeks with everything screwing up on me! Would love to check it out, send it to impalass(at)ptd(dot)net. Sorry for that way to write it out, but what with bots and all...

I must be doing something wrong? I unzipped the files into the John Tiller campaign folder and sure enough the correct WW1 1.1 folder is in there. I found the WW1.exe file but when I click on it I get "windows can not access specified drive path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions." So I tried as adminstrator, same error. I tried every compatibility setting, every run option, display, etc. Nothing works. same error. I've seen this kind of problem before but I don't remember the workaround. Is it a problem with virus protection or something?
Any help appreciated.

So yes, It was a virus protection problem. So I got it going but there are very few options buttons. I can't select a next turn button, no display options, no way to stop the audio, can't put up borders. Basically all the feature buttons of the series are missing except for the unit 'user' buttons on the bottom that allow you to operate or command units but there are no game option buttons to use. Where are the game menu buttons?

Hi after a very long break from this series I have Installed v 2.02 for the first time and gotten the games to work ( W10, had to install the 08 VSRedestributables) and now am trying to install this wonderful Mod which I had installed easy peasy last time, however, I am having issues now and not sure if its me or maybe its not compatable with vs 2.02?

Issue: I can launch the exe and the game loads and I can play WW1 scenarios (kind of)... The issue is there is NO upper top files buttons or drop down menues at all to open for the various in-game function. Ie the Map just extends to the top of the screen and then nothing else... This means there is no way to exit the game without using control alt delete...

The mod appear to launch in full screen mode ( whereas the JTCS games launch in windowed mode) and there is no file or any other way I can tell to make it launch in windows mode ( assuming that is the issue).

Anyone else having issues to get the MOD to work on 2.02? Cheers!

Edit: so this is weird, I can launch all the editors in the mod and they are windowed and I get access to the top of the screen drop down menus... odd the main game wont allow access.... Hopefulling some hot key that I just need to press!!

When I quit the game after installing and playing this mod my desktop colour wallpaper had changed. I had to quit the scenario using taskmanager as there was no menu at the top of the screen for some reason.

I had to change the desktop wallpaper back but it seemed a strange thing to happen, something I have never encountered before in a mod, and it kind of put me off this mod.

Edit.

I also now have a yellowish-brownish line at the top of all Notepad text files and the same colour lines around some Windows dialogue boxes. This is really annoying. It looks like I have a permanent reminder on my PC of this mod that I've no idea how to get rid of or revert back to the default.

This mod actually messed with my Windows 10 install and I am not happy about it.

I think this resolves after a restart of the computer. Same thing has happened to me.

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked.

I will not be using this mod again though. I don't like the fact it makes those sorts of changes and it takes a restart to get rid of them. Not for me.
