How does disparaging Battlefront on a Matrix forum become feedback for Battlefront? Maybe, as Erik indicated, that type of "feedback" needs to be in a Battlefront forum.

Some development teams don't need "feedback" they need only "fanboys".

Notice I said "development teams" not publishers. Some of the Matrix' own dev teams are like that too. Battlefront (as development team) does not seek any feedback for their CM series unless it's the slavish praise. Granted I could not say the same about TOW's development team, because they rarely ever post anywhere so I don't know sh1t about them anyway. They're Russians though, so I like them on that account [;)] Their game is still cr4p no matter how you slice it.

And this is the unique case where I might (kinda) agree with Ravinhood, with whom I usually disagree on most anything. Some companies DO a disservice to whole genres, and should be publicly accused of that.

Prime example - HPS! These dudes just give wargaming a bad name. I WAS in situations where I showed, or reviewed a HPS wargame that was just unbelievably cr4p on all accounts. (I work in a computer magazine and most of my office mates are gamers) I had to spend fantastic amount of energy and words just to explain to my mates that this garbage is NOT, repeat NOT a representative of the whole genre. Their collective reaction would usually be "whoever plays games like these (meaning - all wargames) should have his head examined". Sigh! [:(]

Talk about giving a whole genre a bad name.

So, yes, I do think that all "normal" wargaming companies would do good to distance themselves from the ones dragging the whole genre down (HPS in this case, Battlefront is something else, they are just arrogant, but still inovative on occassion.)

As for Yoozername and Judge Dredd........ obviously they see this thread as extension of some other older threads I haven't seen, so........ they simply continue their old feud(s) here (wouldn't comment on that).

What would possess you to say this? You don't actually post at battlefront and I know I haven't seen you in the beta forums, so what manner of clairvoyance permits you the vision to pass judgement on this? I think you're flat out wrong, and I say that as someone who had deep criticisms in the past. Check out the debates on the CM:AK patches, for example. Many user-identified issues were fixed as part of the patches. It is the same with CM:SF.

What they don't permit is overbearing posters with personal agendas to drive development, but they'd be suicidal to do that, just like any developer.

I'm genuinely interested in knowing what leads you to these conclusions. Personal experience?

Well, despite my attempts this thread seems firmly latched onto discussing Battlefront rather than their games. Locking it up - if any of you want to try this again start a new thread and keep it on topic.
