Malleus Maleficarum's Titans!

Ok so my first titan that I'm really happy with is here. Please give your feedback and advice - mainly about the armor allocation I feel that needs some fine tuning. This is my favourite mech out of all I had at the start of my team, has a small problem with heat after standing still and continuously firing after eight or so attacks - but the increased battle computer and scanner make up for this. I wanted to modify the existing "Pest" titan, but use Pulse Lasers to remove the 5% to hit penalty.

P.S. Crap - I just noticed I've wasted 1mm on a lot of armor parts that dont actually give me any better armor. Like I said armor needs tweaking.

Wow I personally think it's not bad.
I'm sure someone on here will say something about using different armors for better heat dissapation, but Vicenium happens to be my favorite armor. I like the upgraded systems you got on there. =)

some cases you can actually save space using Millenia and Titanium armor and a smaller Heat Reg and still get the same or better heat dissapation.

one of the big downsides of recon Titans is that  they are most often piloted by newbie Jocks who could really benefit from better Scanners And Battle Computers.  unfortunately, you rarely can place decent electronics on a recon as so much else needs to be packed into such a small space.
side note:  there is a reason for tweaking armor and not using just Vicenium.  let me show you...

note that this uses a Heat Reg smaller than yours, yet dissipates .15 C/sec MORE heat.  I also downsized the engine slightly, and added the freed up weight from the Heat Reg and Engine into the armor.  the only problem it now has is that it CANNOT move and fire.  however, newbie Jocks really hsouldn't be moving and firing anyway, so....

Thanks for the feedback.

As for the moving and firing, I usually wasnt. I can't fit a scanner on good enough to scan between shots so I was running a hex while my lasers were recharging and firing again, with the downsized engine I can't do that anymore.

Thanks for the better armour configuration. I know certain parts are hit more often than others - is there a table at all for that so I can apply my armour in accordance? (Of course keeping more armour in vital areas such as head and engine slot.)

Check the guide in a sticky thread, it explains the hit %s for each bodypart.

Finally got my leader up to Regular, and after a couple of battles (both narrowly won I must say.  I'm finally ready to buy my first Medium Titan.  I wanted a damage soaking powerhouse that could get the opponent's attention as it lumbered slowly towards the enemy raining down energy death.  Please let me know what you think.  I'm going to be trialling this titan and observing the results.  I would've liked to fit a better scanner on it so I could gain active scans for aimed shots at point blank range - but with two Tesla Bolts you don't really need that finesse.
 
I tried to make heat management as good as possible without sacrificing armour.  Also I paid attention to the application of armor and other aspects - let me know what you think please :)

looks good.  you might wish to drop one of the Teslas for a Black Ray Gun or two.  less damage, more range which is always a good thing for the slower, heavier Titans.

I can't read titan descriptions correctly with firefox browser. Can you try to put them in code, quote or list tags. Perhaps they are displayed fine then.

actually, the problem is the code tags.  anything listed in code tags FUBARS Firefox.  look for an add-on called IE Tab, will allow you to switch to an IE renderer from within Firefox, which solves the problem.

I'm trying to train up another Jock with energy weapons who'll pilot a "sister" titan which will contain Black Ray Guns and Neutron Blasters. The idea is to make the jock Dizzy (or any other status effect) using Neutron Blasters, and topple the mech with a Black Ray Gun while the enemy jock is senseless. Anyone know if this is viable? I'll be designing the mech as soon as I have money.
