Crash to Desktop

Happens in the last scenario of the second campaign (Enter the KlaaKeen). My save position is a little over 740 KB. When I hit the end turn icon, the game immediately (and very rapidly) crashes to desktop with no error messages.

Have tried varying things from earlier save positions, doesn't seem to have much effect on "nope, I'm not going to play anymore." Save files sent to Erik and to AlexS at SSG Support. Anyone else having this problem?
