Questions on PBEM

Guess I discovered the game a tad too late. It's a fantastic one though. I'd say that it is to WW1 what GGWiE is to WW2.

Couple of questions on PBEM

1. How does it work? Can't find any internal interface for it. Do you have to manually exchange save game files via e-mail?
2. Can 2 players play the grand campaign, or is it only for 3 players? (1 takes the CP, the other both WE and EE?)
3. Is there a community / discord / reddit server where I can find opponents?

I'm quite new to the game, but I am in a state where I am comfortably handling the AI. Guess, I seek for an opponent. No problem if I get demolished by someone far more experienced than me.
