New Preview Posted at The Wargamer

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

New Preview Posted at The Wargamer

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi everyone,

A new preview has just been posted at the Wargamer. An AAR should follow soon and the release shortly thereafter. Warm up your computers...

I have 2 of their old games the very first one from Sharpnel and then the second one with this same engine/graphics. The game had a fixed resolution from what I recall but you can modify an .ini file to make it run in a window mode. Hopefully they still have this window mode in this new version as I really liked that. I am looking forward to this one also.

I'm interested in this too.
I noticed there is no mention of it on the preview, and the screenshots look very low res so i'm a little worried...
The graphics, even if "primitive" don't look bad at all but i hope to be able to play on high res (at least 1280x1024) and not on a little window in the corner of my screen.
We are in 2009! [;)]

Cheers!

Hi guys, the resolution is 1024x768. The graphics were greatly improved, but the engine itself still has that resolution limitation.

I assume that any previous windowed mode will still work, though I personally run it full screen but with my display scaling set to not scale, so that it looks crisp.

Erik (or devs), any chance of posting a full resolution screen shot? The Wargamer pics are pretty down-sampled.

Looking forward to this one. The Napoleonic era with this engine would be outrageously good.
