MWiF maps in PDF?

Post by juntoalmar »

Hi,
Is there any PDF file containing the map of MWiF? Not thinking about printing it, but it would be very useful to have it to review the map when you don't have the game open (from my Mac, for example).

Another good use would be to use it as a reference when I read a WWII book, as it has the most relevant cities for the war (instead of all of them). For example, I'm reading an Osprey book about the war between Japan and China, and using Google Maps is not so nice, as there are name changes, cities that are not important from the WWII perspective... and a great plus is to link the history to the MWiF map, so I know how my current game maps to history events (pun not intended).

Thanks in advance!

I actually kicked around the idea of using the MWiF map in a Vassal module. But even as a png file it is huge!

I made the map from screen shots at zoom level 4 and stitched them together. The only small hex distortions happened in central Africa which hardly ever sees any action.

Here's a link to Google docs where you can download it if you like. It is so large that the forum will not permit attaching a zip of it.

I don't think so.

This is perfect. Exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot!!!

It's a big file indeed, I'll try different levels of JPEG compression, and if I get a good result I will post it here.
