Land Based anti "naval" aircraft modes question

Post by scout1 »

Question regarding land based aircraft settings ...
Naval interdiction requires land based aircraft to be on naval air ? Mission or full support mode ?
Anti-sub ops land based aircraft to be on detection ? Again, Mission or full support mode ?

Al, sure would be nice if aircraft would show a circle on the map for operational radius ... Saves me from counting hexes ......

Being in full support they always intercept fleets, if they are in naval mode they also intercept port supplies.

Submarines cannot be intercepted but they can be attacked if they are within range.

Will subs be attacked if within range BUT NOT in detection mode ?

Sorry, I'm trying to explain better, submarines cannot be intercepted by air force, your air force can attack them on your turn if they are within reach.

Nope is my bad description .....
Will ANY aircraft attack a sub within range REGARDLESS of its technology setting (detection, naval air, escortm etc ....) OR its attack setting (land, air base, naval, strategic)

Just trying to bound the setting needs to be effective for anti sub ops .....

All aircraft in naval mode can attack the submarines that are within range, no matter what technology they are.
But they will never intercept the submarines automatically, you must do the attack manually on your turn.

Yes, any land based aircraft can attack (first must find) a sub at sea. But some are better than other. But you must first select the naval setting and do the attack (the attack) on your turn. On your opponent turn, your planes will never attack a sub.
