[1.20d]Nonsensical Vote Results

Post by zgrssd »

Okay, I just had the weirdest Vote Imaginable. I think something is broken here, hard.

The Winners (and their membership) were:
The Martial Army, 50%
1 Reserve Pool Member
The Lawful Front, 33%
2 Reserve Pool Members
Equality Circle, 11%
16 Members, most of which are Cabinet, Governor or OHQ
Trader Society, 6%
1 Reserve Pool Member

I expected a Landslide for the Equality Circle. Nor for the Martial Army and Lawful Front, which are both 1 good retirement roll from stopping to exist!

Will check this out early next week. But... is this a politburo, senate or a democracy? If other people than leaders can vote it does not really matter how much leaders you have in a faction. Best vic

It is a democracy.

But all the Governor posts are held by the faction. With several hundred percent of Incumbent bonus.
So that alone should give them a decent amount of votes, not 11%.

Okay, I am running the numbers of Guaranteed Votes using the Governor Skill Rolls:

Ionthaw
127200 Population: 50% Base * 100% Happiness * 32% Roll = 16% Fixed = 20352 Votes
31700 Worker: 50% Base * 100% Happines * 45% Roll = 22.5% Fixed = 7132.5 Votes

Actual Votes per Report: 39400 Population, 0 Workers
So, at minimum missing the Worker Votes entirely here.

Lilarbes
66800 Population: 50% * 93% Happiness * 100% Roll = 46.5% Fixed = 31062 Votes
2800 Worker: 50% * 57% Happiness * 29% Roll = 8.3% Fixed = 231.4 Votes

Report: 20300 Population, No Worker Votes at all

Kuhholt
54500 Population: 50% * 84% Happiness * 100% Roll = 42% Fixed = 22890 Votes
7500 Workers: 50% * 52% Happiness * 26% Roll = 6.76% Fixed = 507 Votes

Report: 24300 Population, 1600 Workers

Bugs:
- Guaranteed Ionthaw Worker votes missing
- Lilarbes Worker Votes entirely absent
- there is no information on how the Private or Public Assets shape the vote

Yes I am going to look into the whole political system thing this year.
I agree this is a bit over the top.
Check the Ionthaw gov skill rolls, basically he didn't manage to convince at all.
I think the effect of this bad roll is too strong though.
Thanks for reporting.

I feel like the impact of a skill roll result is enough - however, it is very unclear how the Assets shape the vote.

Like, how did I make everyone in my Nation Love a
Fist 3, Commerce 1, Democracy 1
and
Autocracy 2, Enforcement 2, Fist 2
Faction?

It is compounded by the Fact that Fist 2+ is very common among my Factions:
Martial Army is Fist 3
Lawful Front is Fist 2
Equality Circle is Fist 2

Something similar with Democracy and Commerce:
Equality Circle is 3/3
Trader Society is 2/2
Martial Army is 1/1

So basically each faction has very similar goals. That keep shifting to be more similar over time. So even after I figured out the profile/vote impact, how could I guarantee it hits the right Faction?
