I followed those instructions to a T. I misspoke when referencing the mod you linked as the bacon mod. Expansion is mostly just bacon, and the issue I brought up seems to have carried over from the bacon to the expansion mod.

Okay, I will look into problems you described. Random shipsets for empires should be already fixed, probably something in DWUR race files.

The Bonus Income does not seem to add any money to your treasury.

I think I fixed the bug by changing the family ship models to a different family#. We will see if it works.

Still makes quite a few changes yet. I have the facilities file because I added a facility (Planetary Engineering, to have 100% quality planets) and the lemeresh file (in the races folder) because I put the planet destruction technology accessible to all and the file had this tech in SpecialComponent line.

cant load the theme,it says "Could not load required image CoronaC-0038".I tried deleting the image after everything else failed and now it wont even start the game

i uninstalled DWU and installed it again,added the mod and the same thing happens but now with a different Corona Image

I finally figured out the problem with the ship images (Or I think). I was playing my game and noticed that the calephs and the Y'tla were using the same ship images in the game but when I checked the ship unit images both of their ship image numbers were assigned to the wrong ship image units they weren't using in game (Ex Y'tla should be using ship family 39 sets but they are using 44 in-game.). I'll check to see if other races are overlapping, but I think this is one step closer to solving the ship image problem. Let me know if you guys find the same in your games.

Wow, I just checked other Retreat UE patches and it seems the Y'tla are sharing ship images with the Tairoshan or something. Their ship image sets 39 should direct them to the set the Tairoshan typically use and the Tairoshan ship set family is 23 (in Retreat UE and Expanded) which is a pirate ship set. I have no idea what's going on but I will investigate further. Wish me luck.

I noticed that in the \images\units\characters folder, all the images for the Kiadian race are actually missspelled as "kiadain-"
As a quick fix, I modified the txt file for the Kiadian race (in the \characters folder ) with the spelling used by the images, did a quick test and it seems to work.

Real life has been a beast recently. Thanks to @Latisrof and @Noyyau for pointing out some issues. I will take a look and see if I can iron out wrinkles and kinks as I publish 0.9.8.
@eaglesnake when it comes to stuff like you mentioned about bonus income not adding to credits...I have to defer to Retreat (RetreatUE) and or Alvek (Expansion Mod). I just try and fold in their changes as a part of this compilation. The only stuff I actively changed/added were graphics. I don't have much coding experience to look at how the game is behaving with stuff like that
But all the stuff you guys have been noticing about image families and race misspellings are definitely things I CAN work on

Hello there! Not sure if you're still replying to people here, but anyways wanted to give it a shot to see if there's a chance you could please help me out. Issue I'm having is when I select the theme to "DWUR", it creates an error code saying that one of the images won't load (CoronaB-0025.png), whereupon it immediately closes the game without making the theme change. I'm not really that tech-savvy, at least not with poking around in files, so the only thing I could think of was to remove that file from the folder, but trying to select the "DWUR" theme resulted in another error saying an image won't load, and instead of that specific image it was another 'CoronaB' with a different number. I installed the Expansion mod using the exact instructions, as well as your mod, so I'm really confused as what to do next; this mod seems really great and got me super excited to try to pick up DWU again, so if there's any chance I could have some help with this it would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I just now saw (not sure how I missed it before, sorry) that someone else asked about the same thing, but as I see no actual solution was given so I still would like to ask for aid; to clarify in what I did, I downloaded the Expansion and this mod, but I saw further down the comment chain that someone was talking about needing to download the Bacon mod separately. However, the download links for it aren't working, so at this point not really sure what to do...would really suck to not be able to use your mod.

So I had modified and bungled my directory so much that even I was getting crashes when trying to launch vanilla.
I did a COMPLETE uninstall (uninstalled, then deleted the mostly-empty game folder).
Then I re-installed the game and confirmed it worked with no mods.
Then I installed Alvek's Expansion Mod (link from his forum post) ---> https://shorturl.at/kEQ34 You download the file, right click on where it is on your computer. Go to Properties and check the "unblock" box. Then use the password 1234 to unzip it. Copy the "FULL" folder into the ROOT DW:U folder.
...but the game wouldn't launch.
Then I installed Alvek's most recent experimental DistantWorlds.exe here (link from his forum post) ---> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H8cGOn ... sp=sharing Password again is 1234.
After that, the game works

You should use Expansion Mod OR Bacon Mod, but no you don't need both. Alvek's Expansion Mod is a continuation of Bacon Mod.
Regarding your error, it might be that you're running out of memory. Some users were running into quirky issues with previous versions of DWUR because I had included a lot of higher-resolution graphics. I'm not a total techie either to figure out if that's the case, but we can try to do a total DWU/Expansion Mod/DWUR(0.9.8 just came out...see links above) reinstall on your end to see if that clears anything up? I know I know...not the most original approach

Check out my last post where I explained that I also had to do a fresh install. See if using Expansion Mod + Alvek's updated DistantWorlds.exe + DWUR might help. Post here if that works. If not, we'll try a couple of other things.
