Scenario - Slag om Nederlands

Post by spelk »

I've started a beginners AAR on the Battle of the Netherlands over at my blog, Turn 1 is up now.

You'll have to excuse my beginner's ways as the game plays out, but I'm hoping it will provide an accessible read for newcomers to the game, and will inspire others to give it a go. Its going to be a "warts and all" playthrough, rather than an example of tactical/strategic play. :)

If you're interested, please take a look.

Excellent read, indeed.

Only one problem: the blog is so interesting that I keep getting sidelined into other topics when I go there.

Have you played any of your action cards in this scenario so far?

Not yet no. Being a bit of a novice seems to go against me in this scenario. :)

Thanks Nikolaj, W2P is certainly one of the more polished chit shufflers I've come across. It just feels good to play it, the art style and other visuals appeal to me, the music is very atmospheric, and Vic had already sold me on his mechanics with AT a long while back, but W2P has the style now. I just hope he can continue the series into some of the other campaigns of the War, if theres the interest I'm sure the engine could cover a number of releases.

Once again, your silver tongue (fingers?) and my weak spine conspire to empty my wallet.

Please, oh please, don't post about any other games in the wargamer thread on Qt3, until at least january. I'm way too old to get away with giving my family amateurish home made drawings and clay sculptures for christmas. :D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the rest of the AAR. I think I'll start out with this scenario, when my download has finished.

It definately looks like the dutch have thwarted your efforts.  I guess we'll see during the next turn.
