[RESOLVED] Air Operations Window Bug

Post by chiefx1x »

Hello,

I am having an issue where when I complete a tutorial mission, the next mission I open, I am unable to open the Air Operations window. Either through the key or through the dropdown at the top. It does flash momentarily but will not open. This has happened four times, I have verified the integrity of the game files and it does fix the issue each time, however it takes about 20-30 minutes to do so. The pop up states between 47-54 files failed to verify each time. I have tested opening a mission and then starting a different new mission from there but the Air Ops window still opens. I also tested switching to a new mission right before completing a tutorial mission (had played the previous mission for about 20-30 minutes), the Air Ops window opened but did not display any aircraft or structures. I closed the window and it went back to momentarily popping up, followed by disappearing. I have downloaded the community scenario pack from steam and the additional database images/descriptions, unsure if that would affect things. All overlay programs are disabled or off (Steam, NVIDIA, Afterburner). I apologize if this has already been addressed somewhere else, I did a handful of google searches and was unable to return any results that were relevant. I have the save in my downloads folder but an unable to attach it due to "invalid file extension", it is a .save file. What can I convert this into to be able to attach it?

right click file - compress to .zip then attach the .zip (or otherwise zip or 7zip it.)

This issue also occurs on the steam beta build and build 1307.9. The air operations window will only open one time, which makes any scenario with more than one airfield/carrier unplayable.

Edit: a word

I have tried to reproduce this issue in B1307.9, unsuccessfully. I am able to open the Air Ops window in multiple different scenarios loaded sequentially.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue ?

Dang it. I'm going to try a complete uninstall and fresh install and try it without the extra DB images/descriptions added. I'm not sure if the files are failing to verify due to the added files or if it's part of the bug. I have no other things running in the background other than chrome, I've turned off/ended task on anything that could even be considered close to an overlay. Could this be an overlay program or anti-virus issue? I only have Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, Command MO has permissions in the firewall, and I've tried turning the fire wall off.

Edit: Also, thank you for looking into it. That probably indicates it's something specific to my PC right?

Complete uninstall and reinstall worked for some reason. Issue appears to be resolved.

Edit: Spoke too soon, it worked for about 20 minutes.

Found a working solution. I have a 1440p main monitor and 1080p secondary. I had previously applied the 4K fix for the UI. I had been keeping my air ops window open on the 2ndry monitor. Since only opening the air ops window on my main monitor, I have not had the issue reoccur.
