Are the guides for first turn Air setup and initial ground attacks still effective with the newest update

I tend to assume the first set of ADs for scenario start are the product of the highly familiar betas/scenario designer. I don't begin to mess with things until T2.

First of all. Focus on strikes against airfields with Soviet fighters, abandon the deep operations of your bombers.
In the south, be prepared for the fact that one way or another you will suffer some kind of loss.

Then you follow the rails. You take Riga, Minsk, surrounding and moving in depth as efficiently as possible.
In the South, the goal of the first move is not to activate the Southern Soviet Front, so the connection with the Romanians is not a priority.

However, you need to take Odessa as quickly as possible, as well as accumulate cargo in Romanian ports so that they can then be transferred to Odessa and improve your supply.

And then you'll figure it out.

there was a previous post for doing the first turn air attacks that had some really great results, and I know you had to change almost all of the initial air setup. I just cannot find it?

Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

found it in The War Room, https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 6#p4915906
its the download link gives specific instructions with pics to set up your entire 1st turn bombing missions with excellant results.

152 axis planes lost, to 3944 soviet plane losses. takes some time to set up, but worth the effort

Yeah I wrote that a while back, it's still viable, IIRC, one of the bases in Romania was deleted so you just have to make adjustment there.

The cavate is that no recon and no GS mission is needed on turn 1, you really don't need those missions on turn 1 at all, and then on turn 2 scrap all these missions and rebuild your GS, Recon and NP as needed.

Thanks for the kind words.

Sarge,

Tips?

Despite the very good reporting tools in the UI, I find these games like Chess engines. They point at a mistake BLUNDER, but don't put it into English for me. Maybe when WITE-3+GPT5 comes out for people like me!
