Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.2)

Re: Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.0 - Aurora Update))
The values for colonization suitability have been changed. The information in the table on page 53 is outdated for Dhayut and Ikkuro. The entries for the other races seem to be correct.
Re: Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.0 - Aurora Update))
Thanks so much for catching that. I'm making a new pass for the DLC next - so the update fix that.

Thank you for this immensely valuable guide, I'm using it all the time!

Thanks for the kind words all. New update coming at the end of the week to cover the new DLC changes
Re: Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.0 - Aurora Update))
Still a great guiude, helped me (again) after taking a months-long break from DW2.
I've found an inconsistency:
Your overview of panets' and moons' ressources (page 54) lists "Megallos Nut" as a resource for Marshy Swamps. According to the Galactopedia it is only available on forest and continental worlds. Marshy Swamps instead can have "Falajian Spice" (again according to the Galactopedia), but it isn't listed. Now I wonder which one is correct.

Thanks for the kind words. Turns out I'm correct and the 'pedia is wrong. In game shot from latest version:Friese wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 10:31 am Still a great guiude, helped me (again) after taking a months-long break from DW2.

Hmm, a bug, then? That might be the reason why I can't remember having seen "Falajian Spice" in any of my recent games.

Fallajian Spice doesn't have the code to spawn on any planet. I can confirm that. Also, the Galactopedia entries on Resources are lying about a lot of things, as I note in my Cheat Sheet. The Galactopedia pages for Planets, though, have the correct information on what spawns where and how frequently (as they seem to draw that straight from the code found in OrbTypes).
Re: Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.0 - Aurora Update))
Played DWU and noticed a difference in your recommendation.
In DWU, I only built a few SpacePorts and lots of Defensive bases because I heard that the private economy stockpiles production resources on planets that have SpacePorts.
The implication was that if you build too many Spaceports, the private economy spreads your resources too thin and you end up with lots of construction shortages.
Has this changed?

So on normal difficulty - rarely. Caslon (fuel) is the one exception - your thirsty fleets and freighters that have to go far away to move resources can cause a shortage. However, some tech choices (better reactors, bigger mining engines, etc.) can alleviate even that in most cases. Just be sure to keep your empire rather tight (don't needlessly add unneeded mining stations far out of your empire's circle of influence).ReadeB wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 2:41 pm Played DWU and noticed a difference in your recommendation.

Thanks for the endorsement. I've removed the part about your guide being somewhat outdated, since you released a new version.
Best of luck with your health issues.

Re: Scott's Guide to DW2 available to download (version 3.2)
After reading the latest version of the pdf, I was wondering where these new automation options are in the current version of the game?

Or are these new options in the upcoming DLC?

It's in the public beta version if I'm not mistaken.
