Can US/UK stalemate Axis without USSR?

Never tried this before, late 44, Italy just took down USSR (usually auto-surrender). Hotseat, I'm teched up better than the Axis and am on the continent(got Paris), Japs not doing so well, no major losses either way.

Can the Allies stalemate the Axis sans Reds?

Re: Enough of blah-blah threads, when can I buy this puppy?

OK Bill I'm patient but is there any new game mechanics to look forward to or is this just a bigger map and the same old sprites and SC3 features we've seen for the last 5 years?

Re: City defense, is AA even worth it?

Put an AA upgraded unit in an upgraded town, city, fortification etc. and park an upgraded AA unit next to it. What does that spell?

If the unit is an upgraded infantry, like special forces, with an entrenchment, it is an impregnable position.

Like Port Moresby.

Already own it, a good dividend payer, but for future positions, my eyes are on CVX. Needs to pull back a little and then pull the trigger! :)

Re: Russian winter and USSR-US power balance

Seems like you're working yourself up to the challenge Bill. Better yet, since you guys have created the Pac War campaign, why not follow up with the Russian scenario at the division scale.

Anybody for "War in the East", SC version?

Re: Different how?

The original SC was published by Battlefront and had hexes. It was more of a Clash of Steel upgrade and sadly it has not changed as far as the combat mechanics of one attack, one unit per hex format from the beginning, like 24 years ago. Still it is a great game but eventually we would all like to s...

Re: Different how?

I'm thinking that a new unit that could sail into the harbor of the smaller atolls as a CV would, could be appropriate as a representation of an island airfield. Larger atoll conglomerations could have more than one harbor, ie more airfields, for the air element deployment. Of course a supply level ...

Re: What program/film/documentary are you watching now?

Just watched "SiSu", entertaining, but of course fictitious. Daughter sent a new WW2 book, "The Forgotten Highlander", intro reminds me of "Unbroken". Looks to be a good read about Death's Railway in Burma and Thailand.

Re: Carrier modes question

This is a prime example of feature creep. SC status as a strategic platform shouldn't navigate down to the air combat officer of individual carrier air groups. It is a basic understanding that the various squadrons should interact to provide the best strike application possible. Yes, we all know tha...

Re: Why is this game so much harder than WWI?

Yes, Bavre is right. The secret to this game is just like it is in the real thing, logistics with force projection. Simply, build all the HQs you can, then research infrastructure to build more and learn how to manage them to produce maximum supply for your units. Don't forget to protect them. Succe...
