Re: WP2 Manpower and Oil

Perhaps you should fix the existing problems with the game before you introduce a major change in the rules. I have followed the game for three years now and it is still not ready for prime time. I would like to play a finished version before I die of old age.

I had the same problem, but not being as Windows-literate as you would never have figured it out on my own. Thank you so much!

Re: Strategic Command: American Civil War Announced

No stacking? With 9 mile hexes? The whole battle of Gettysburg was fought in less space than that. There will have to be some way of assembling large armies in a single hex. Civil War armies did not fight as separate divisions lined up along a tenuous "front" scores of miles long as shown ...

RE: Preorder now available !

Ordered! It is a fair price, but I would have paid more. With this, War in the East II and Campaign Series: Vietnam, I figure I am fixed for games for the rest of my life.

God. what a bunch of screwballs. If I'd known this forum was a private chat room for loony tunes, I would never have posted here.

I didn't mean you, Zorch. Thank you for trying.

RE: Heavier Military/Operations Focused Histories - ACW and WW2

<t> I'm reading an educational series of books by Jeffrey W. Hunt entitled "Lee and Meade after Gettysburg". Three books have been published with a fourth to come. They cover the period between when Lee retreated into Virginia after Gettysburg, and the end of the season's campaigning. The period is ...

RE: whaaaaat?

<t> I installed this game over a year and a half ago (NOV 19) and 10 patches later (12 in all) it's still broken. I am not a fanboy, just a customer who spent his $40 and expects a game he can play. I could not care less if it is balanced for PBEM.<br/> <br/> I will check back in a year. I have plen...

<r> Orbiting planets. As <B><s></s>RogerBacon<e></e></B> states, they can make a big difference in some tactical situations and add a lot of visual appeal as well. The first time I played DW 1, I was in such a hurry to start a colony that I built a colony ship before I had a FTL drive. Unfort...

RE: Edition Purchase Confusion

Be aware that if you buy the boxed edition, you'll be charged another $32 for shipping (for a total of $67), at least to the USA. I was all set to purchase until I saw that.

I'm new to CMO, but am thinking about buying it on sale. I understand that it evolved out of CMNAO, but will the DLC from that game work with CMO? Are they included in CMO? Thank you for your help.

RE: FROM THE RED ZONE

<t> I take as a given that we can never in practice know how many people have a disease (parameter). We estimate it by how many people are diagnosed or tested positive (statistic). At the start of a pandemic, basing mortality on death rates will generally underestimate, since few have yet died. Late...

RE: FROM THE RED ZONE

<t> Even if we knew exactly how many people in the population had the disease (a parameter), we still wouldn't know how many would die and how many would recover. Since we expect many more will recover than die, calculating death rate from recovery rate will always be well ahead of the curve (overes...

RE: FROM THE RED ZONE

<t> OK, try this: Number of deaths (assuming we've found all the bodies) and number recovered (assuming the test is accurate) are parameters. They apply to the entire population. Number infected is a statistic based on a sample (the number who have been tested for one reason or another). It's not ev...

RE: Installing My Games on New PC

If you have the Matrix game downloads saved and their registration#, you're all set. Run the installer and supply the number when asked. If you don't have them saved, contact Customer Service and they will give you a new download key.

I cannot advise about 4K displays.
