Re: Help needed with FF production

Worked wonders! If editing the savegame was not possible, I don't know how many games would have derailed beyond repair. As a result I think I wouldn 't even be playing MWiF anymore... Thanks :D . Agree 100%. Glad it worked for you! By the way, I'm going to add this section to my editing capture gu...

Re: Help needed with FF production

This is great, Ronnie, exactly what I need!
I 'll let you know if I managed to do it. There 's a few more Major Powers that have not used up all their BP so hopefully that doesn 't change the procedure too much.

Re: Help needed with FF production

Hmmmm, I have downloaded and searched your A Layman's Approach to "Successfully" Editing the MWiF Game File from Dropbox (latest upload 19/01/2024), but I can only find how to save/insert BP on the map. If editing FF 's available BP during production cant be done I'm ofc also fine with Orm...

Re: Help needed with FF production

Thanks for the help so far! Really appreciated! Ronnie, your solutions fits perfectly into what I'd want to do. Here's how I'd do it. When Free France production comes around, build a CP, save and edit game file to 8 remaining BPs for production, build De Gaulle, undo CP build and save only BPs beyo...

Re: Help needed with FF production

Hmm, I see you are right according to RAC (Not RAW8, there is no limit in consuming BPs anywhere). Checking RAC, it seems there is a bug here indeed: Yaounde is FF current Capital, so it should allow for the saving (AND consuming) of 8BP. MWiF allows FF to save only 4BP . Douala could have 4BP saved...

Help needed with FF production

Hi Guys, In my current game (global war scenario), something really strange and ugly happend with the saved Free French build points. Twice during this game now. I must correct this, but I need help with that. During production in J/F '43, FF had 5BP saved in Cameroons (4 in Yaoundé and 1 in Douala)...

Re: Supply question

The problem, as I see it with the implementation (i.e., coding) of the isolated reorg optional rule is that isolation is checked continuously throughout the turn whenever supply is checked. Of course, supply needs to be checked/verified throughout the turn but isolated reorganization only applies (...

Re: Supply question

I think, the optional rule "Reorganisation of isolated units" has been intentionally crippled by the designer in the latest version 5.0.0.1, in order to save processing time. I think, MWIF will flag every unit with a supply path > 10 hexes as isolated, when this rule is enabled. So RAW as...

Re: Supply question

Yes, but in this case, if I did understand it right, he is on a secondary supply source, that he says can trace to a primary. However, if you have just taken the city, or it was this turn, you have not conquered the country yet, nor you control the minor country (not just the capital or the railroa...

Supply question

Hey guys just a quick supply-question to verify I am not cheating my current solo-playthrough. Please check the screenshot below. As you can see the Argentinian 'lancers' CAV is marked as 'isolated'. ARG.jpg This is incorrect, so I will manually reorg this unit after each move (tamper with the GAM-f...

Re: Supply bug or no bug?

Bug. And a strange one, since I haven't seen this type of bug appearing for a long time now. Can you post a gamesave? Ofc, here it is: Mannerheim.zip Little extra info: Mannerheim moved to the coast of the White sea, two hexes SE along the railway. He is now in supply by railing to Murmansk, then 2...

Re: Supply bug or no bug?

I think it is a bug. Maybe it is the "refresh" bug? Try to save, and reload, and see if the OOS HQ is now in supply. "Refreshing" didn 't help. But maybe it 'll help when it is the axis' turn... If not, maybe Mannerheim will be in supply when he moves to the coast of the white s...

Supply bug or no bug?

Quick question: In the screenshot below, is Mannerheim correctly out-of-supply, or is this a bug? I thought he should be in supply because he is tracing a railway supply path (from secondary to primary supply source): - 1 hex to the east to reach the rail, - 0 hexes to murmansk (all railways), - 1 h...

Re: MOSUL OIL controlled by multiple Major Powers

I can confirm that (in my case) the CW can use the mosul oil for reorganization (they did that last turn). In general, Major powers can use an oil resource for reorg even before it is transported and saved somewhere and this is what the CW in my case was still allowed to do. But only this and nothin...

Re: MOSUL OIL controlled by multiple Major Powers

Thanks for the reactions guys! Ofc it's a bug, the game basically says to the CW: "this resource is not yours, only the controller of this resource may touch it"... which is humbug if you look at the map ;). CW should at least be allowed to save it in place, Bagdad or Basra, given the cur...

Re: MOSUL OIL controlled by multiple Major Powers

(...) Assuming you can transport it someplace, and if over seas have the "spare" CPs in place to do so, I just increase by 1 the saved oil of the MP who controls that oil point. yeah I think I remember you posted a way to do this a while ago. I searched your layman's guide (which has save...

Re: MOSUL OIL controlled by multiple Major Powers

Hehheh yeah MWiF still deals economic damage to the CW in addition to the Axis with their Battle for the Atlantic. I find myself fiddling with the .GAM-file several hours every time I play MWiF. But I must admit I depend on the 'Layman's Guide' for that fiddling and at the moment I am at a loss ther...
