RE: SOW GB and WL Runtime error

<t> Late feedback re the runtime issue: Never did resolve the issue. However, I was due for a new laptop (8 years), so game runs fine on the new equipment with one small exception:<br/> <br/> I loaded both SOWG and SOWWL and set Windows 7 compatibility. The only issue is the cursor flickers/disappea...

Many thanks, Zak. I'll try that solution and get back with results, may answer questions others may have on the same topic.

Hope you have a relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.

RE: SOW GB and WL Runtime error

Thanks, Zak. Did some research on that, but not a tech genius. When you say run the prerequisites again, what is that process. Also, would deleting and reinstalling the most recent DirectX app be a possible solution.

Again, thanks for responde.

SOW GB and WL Runtime error

<t> I have owned SOW Gettysburg and Waterloo since released. Have had no problems since the purchase. Recently, MS updated my computer with MS Edge browser. I don't know what other upgrades were included, but ever since get a runtime error message when I try to open/play the SOW apps. I researched o...

Peninsula Mod: Maps?

I have been using the Peninsula Mod OOB's for sandbox and MP for a while. Are there maps to go with the Peninsula OOB's? Can't seem to find them.

Another nice mod around a little known battle. Map and terrain are excellent. We used this in a MP a few weeks ago. Thanks again for providing additional enjoyment for SOW.

RE: Pea Ridge 1862

I had meant to get back to you about this MOD. In a word, awesome. I have done 2 random sandbox, army vs army with AI cranked up, couriers communication and limited elevation on the camera. Nicely done! Great map, terrain and challenge. Look forward to more like this.

RE: Free Mod - Scourge of War: Lynchburg

Downloaded yesterday and ran a couple scenarios. Nicely done. I am always interested in the little known battles like Pea Ridge and Lynchburg. Speaking of which, any plans to do a mod for Wilson's Creek?

RE: Question about cavalry

<t> My 2 cents: Cavalry is the most frustrating unit in the game. Try Brandy Station full scenario some time. To RebBugler's point, I learned the most critical factor was having your leaders up close and personal, moving between units to critical points in the line frequently. Second was fatigue.</t>

<t> Been awhile since I was in the forums so just know read your post. Interesting in that I was in a sandbox last night where McClellan was commander with one corp Porter commanding with 4 divisions. I ran into the same problem with Porter. RE: SOW Screen Prints

<t> Thanks for the feedback. I discovered the problem is my Dell laptop design (F4 key is screen brightness key) and the print screen program requires a multi step process- the graphics program issue to which I believe Chris was referring. I did figure out a way to solve the problem- use my smartpho...

SOW Screen Prints

Hope someone can help. Three players for multiplayer several times a month. I've been wanting to screen print for our AARs and no joy. I have a Dell with a Prntscr key, but can't open paint while in multiplayer. Anyone know any tricks to this? Much appreciated.

<t> "Chasing Schackleton". WGBH special on a polar explorer recreating Ernest Schackleton's 800 mile boat journey from Antarctica to South Georgia Island, and the mountain crossing to civilization. RE: Are you ever going to get out of Civilwar mode?

And as we are posting to this thread, Matrix/Slitherine announce development of Waterloo and follow on Napoleonics on the SOW system. This is an excellent decision. I'll be like a kid waiting for Christmas.
