RE: Harpoon: Ultimate Edition and Our Philosophy

<t> Count me in. The large collection of previous editions (notably including 3.63), and a reduced price for those of us who already own both HCE and ANW combine to make an attractive package for current owners. The option to update to Ultimate standard for free is also a decent gesture although I u...

RE: Will it run on a Netbook?

Elch, I have the same new netbook, and am quite impressed. Runs HTTR just fine, as well as EF2000 and Max Payne 2. Please do post your experience with BtfB when you can. Will be very interested to hear.

And good luck.

<t> From what Matrix and Panther spokespersons are saying, this is a simplified breakdown of their market analysis:<br/> <br/> 1. The gaming public p<br/> 2. Wargamers new to Matrix a<br/> 3. RE: What a shame and very upset

Wait a minute. $70? On my order page the price shows up as a penny less than $80 (for the download version - another 10 for the physical).

RE: First impressions please

Once again, Dr. Sterrett issues a concise, clear, and informative "box" of information. But...I take it you like it? Can offer observations as well as any compare/contrast with COTA?

RE: Price?

The rationale that the sim will be long lasting is quite reasonable. However, for that same reason, the price is reminding me that I have not nearly exhausted COTA yet.

RE: Potential Buyers List

I'd buy it this minute at the $55 point, and almost certainly at the $60 although would probably read through the reviews first - which would be stellar...which would provide whatever "excuse" I needed.

RE: Price?

<t> I lurk often, post seldom - buy all the Panther games and a number of others here. I completely understand Matrix and Panther Games' reasoning and it certainly is their investment and their experience, which I have to respect. But like many here, thinking the sim would be in the $55-60 range, th...

RE: Strategy guide worth it?

Thanks, simovitch! Appreciate the information. Sounds like a well put together book.
I am getting a lot of useful info from Mark Shot's volumes.

RE: Battle of the Bulge book?

It's excellent. Lots of descriptions of specific moment to moment episodes all over the theater, together with the larger operational picture. it reminded me of one of my all time favorites from younger days, John Toland's Battle: Story of the Bulge.

RE: Strategy guide worth it?

<t> Bump.<br/> Recently purchased HTTR and wondered the same thing. Having downloaded the massive Hints and Tips document so nicely devleoped here, wasn't sure whether it more or less replaces the Guide. For new players - I imagine those who frequent the forum for this and for COTA are on average pr...

RE: Can;t download update or anything from the website

<t> Scott, that's correct - ran afoul of that last week but the ZA new version fixes the Windows Security update clash. However, the issue with firewall and Matrix downloads has been around for a long time. Same behavior with the latest Zone Alarm. In reality, I don't think it's that big a deal - ju...

RE: Newbie Q - Tutorial 4

<t> My concern posted on a similar thread, was when using both the ANW standard db (as b whittle did - assumed it was the standard and best for at least the basic functions of ANW) and the Players DB&nbsp;as a check, whether or not the friendly AI fires with "weapons free." If it doesn't do this...

<r> Shemar, I take it I'm the only one seeing this, so must be something I'm doing. But - targets are red - ID as hostile I believe, but not identified by name until much too close for the Kriminsky. In any event, I believe the Tutorial suggests first leaving the Hornet on Weapons free, to demonstra...

RE: Download not working

<t> Erik, I think the download problem may often be attributable to one item you mentioned - turning off the firewall. Despite having cookies enabled, and the ability to purchase and download games via your store, I could not download any file from Matrix - private or not...until I turned off my fir...
