RE: Allies Squad Upgrades - Can you skip a step?

Yup, you can.
Provided you have enough 1943 squads in the pools, supplies, HQ, etc your basic 1941 can upgrade directly to 1943 squads. Your old 1941 squads will be returned to pool - but as 1943 squads already.

Sometime it is better to disband a decimated unit and use its cadre to either reinforce other units or in schools or to provide cadre for a newly creating unit lacking veterans?

Put it on Rest/Training with no upgrading. On Withdrawing it would leave as a unit, and will not dump all the squads/items into your pools. So pretty useless except garrison and supply consumption. [8|]

Little advice: Try not to mix ships with widely different capabilities together for Surface Combat (Old BBs+New BBs+CAs+CLs). You will inherit the weaknesses of each.

F4U and F6Fs were used by Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) on several operations around Norway, arctic convoys and operation Dragoon - they occassionaly clashed with Bf-109s/FW-190s. Try to check those operations on internet.

RE: Meridian to Majestic: Hartwig (Lokasenna) (J) vs obvert (A) (Bullwinkle's from 7/41-11/44)

Double F4U-1D could be RNZAF + USN/USMC. RNZAF was only other combatant using Corsairs actively other than FAA (which had Corsairs Mk.I/II/II/IV).

It certainly isn't USMC+USN as they are sharing their pools.

Make sure you both have the same game version (check upper right corner of the game main screen). Then upgrade both game versions up to the same patch (including beta).
