RE: kudos on the battle 'books'

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>I'm blown away by the battle books that BaB has provided. Most games have historical notes but you've gone a step beyond. If you keep doing this they will comprise a Civil War library of sorts. Congrats to Bill Battle. Is that a pen name, somebody on the BaB staff, or Matrix...

RE: CV Esoterica (not Erotica, Cap)

How about:
USS John Sevier
USS Watauga
USS Ramsour's Mill
USS Daniel Morgan
USS Nathanael Greene
USS Jethro Sumner

I, too, am predisposed to the Southern theater.

Good luck,

RE: Ouch! Pearl Harbour Wipeout..

<t> I, too, have the Pearl Harbor guided torpedo problems. <br/> Every single time, the battleships get blasted, mainly by torps. I have played it several times CPU vs. CPU and get the same results. And then the game crashes on Dec. 8, but that's a different story! <br/> I can't get how the ships hi...

<t> Japanese Homing Torpedoes at PH<br/> Every time I run the game with historical first turn or read an AAR in this forum, it seems that all battleships are being hit by torpedoes.<br/> As we know, the historical setup that some battleships, such as the Tennessee and Maryland were moored inboard ot...

RE: Japanese Planes St. Charles County MO

<t> I would guess that is the Tora, Tora, Tora group. I haven't been able to find out where they were going and where they were going. I do know they flew over my hometown, Washington, MO, because our photo editor got a shot of them flying over her parents' house.<br/> Thanks!<br/> <br/> The really ...

Kingmaker,
Thanks!
The original bio was twice as long. It was tough to whittle it down to what you see here.
I really got the idea when I saw Thomas' grave in Waynesville, North Carolina, last year while trying to find ancestors in the same cemetery.

Also, Sturgis, South Dakota (home of the annual motorcycle rally which has drawn as much as 750,000) was named after him as well!

Wil-Usdi: CSA Col. William H. Thomas (Thomas Legion)

<r> <I><s>[i]</s>For your reading pleasure. Thomas commanded a unit of Cherokee Indians and western North Carolina mountain men during the war. He is buried near the site of the Battle of Waynesville, one in which the victors surrendered. I just found him to be a very interesting character with a st...

Joram and jkBluesman,
Thank you for the praise. jkBluesman, I'm looking forward to seeing you get back into the bio-writing business!
And everyone else out there, still plenty of blue generals to write up!
