Preview of combat results

I tried a previous Decisive Campaign game but it was too difficult for me without some indication of how the combat might go. Does this one have any indication of how the combat results might turn out, or does it require playing experience to understand the probable results? Thanks

RE: Onboard Mortar Spotting

<t> Thanks Tom. I think that's the correct way to implement it since it doesn't make sense that the leader could only call in mortars if the spot succeeded, since the hex doesn't need to be spotted in the first place. I'm also assuming that the leader still won't be able to call in mortars and lend ...

RE: Facing oddity

I've had armor facing bugs as well. I had one situation where the computer swapped the facing of our two units so I was shooting at front armor and the AI tank was shooting at side armor, when it should have been the reverse. The two units were adjacent so maybe that causes problems.

Onboard Mortar Spotting

<t> In the first fantasy scenario of the German Campaign I just successfully spotted a hex with a leader. A spotted marker was placed on the hex, but when I tried to fire my mortar, it said the hex was out of LOS. Isn't it supposed to be that I can fire a mortar the same impulse it was successfully ...

Big UI Improvement Suggestion

<t> I've played through most of the scenarios now and I've thought of something that would alleviate one of my frustrations. Right now when I am searching for targets it will often tell me there is a 30% chance of damage, but then when I click to fire it is out of LOS. So I switch off the unit and g...

RE: Heroes of Stalingrad: What's Next?

<t> For me it all depends on what is easiest and will come out the quickest. If using the existing LnL board games makes it much easier and faster to come out with a PC version, then do that. If there is no difference, then I would prefer different settings than already exist in the board games, sin...

Possible Unit Actions

<t> Is there a way to limit the highlighted buttons on the action menu bar to actions the units can actually take? As a newbie to the game I'm spending a lot of time trying to figure out how or where I can move units when it becomes clear that they can't move, even though the move box is lit up. <br...

RE: Panzer Corps iPad Screens - 2 days to go!

<t> I'm sorry for my confusion, but all of the pricing information doesn't make sense to me. (I don't understand how the whole package would cost $110 on the pc. Maybe the christmas sale is affecting that.) Unfortunately I do not know the conversion rates either. So does $60 get you PC and all the I...

Should some of the boardgame scenarios be modified?

<t> Having played the boardgame I think the persistent APs alter the balance of some of the scenarios. (Monsters being the biggest example) I hope the designers are open to slightly altering the OBs of some of the boardgame scenarios to make them more balanced under the computer rules. (Or at least ...

Keeping units for the next DLC campaign

<t> I was wondering if I should up the difficulty if I am keeping my experienced units when starting a new DLC campaign. Are the DLC campaign difficulty levels set with the expectation that you would have veteran units or is it assumed that you will start the campaign from scratch? Is anyone finding...

How to read a unit? Combat Numbers Preference?

<t> Can someone explain what the big white number on a unit means? Why does it change if you make the unit icon smaller? <br/> <br/> Does it have anything to do with the Combat Numbers preference? (What does that do?) <br/> <br/> And can you point me in the right direction as to where to find this i...

Which expansion pack gets played the most?

<t> I'm thinking of getting this and one of the expansion but I don't see any threads about which one is the best to get. Does anyone have any idea which one gets played the most or is it just whichever is the newest one? Do I need to get one with the DAG? Do they all have it? Thanks a lot for any a...

How long is the gameplay? For a turn? Scenario?

I was wondering what typical play time is to complete a scenario? Also for a turn? How does it compare to WitE this way? Roughly how many units do you have under control in the the major scenarios? Thanks

RE: Very Good AI

<t> Maybe I'm doing something different, but I've played a few skirmishes on AI level 5 with max opponents and none of them have been close. I've been ahead the whole time without having to build anything but an archery. I'm using the advanced rules but this seems much much easier than slay so far. ...

RE: remove unit

The only way is to combine it with another unit and then it will level up. So you can slowly get rid of all of your level 1 units by making them level 2 by combining them.

Bulge vs. COTA (HTTR info)

<t> I am trying to decide between getting COTA or the Bulge and I have read hints about adapting the HTTR scenarios to the newer Bulge engine, but I haven't been able to find specific information about how this is happening. I have HTTR already but I would like to upgrade the engine if possible. Doe...

Huge thanks to you guys. I was going to be so bummed, you saved me from having to buy the game again. I wrote it in my manual for next time. Thanks a ton. Drinks are on me.

RE: Is there any other way to determine my serial number?

So the only way to retrieve it is if I registered the game. So I am still screwed. It's my own fault, but I have to say that in 15 years of computer gaming I can't remember a single other game where I needed the serial number to update with a patch. I don't really see how it prevents pirating.
