Welcome to the Slitherine site. As you may have heard, Slitherine has recently acquired Battlefront.
For more details, please refer to the official announcements. We believe this acquisition is a great development for Slitherine, the Battlefront team, and the Combat Mission franchise. This page aims to address as many questions from the community as possible.
If you bought games from Battlefront, you will continue to have access to them by logging in to your Battlefront account as you do now.
However, going forward, we are only supporting Combat Mission 2 and above series games. You keep everything you’ve already purchased, and CM2+ will be fully supported.
We’ve worked hard to ensure that this process is as seamless as possible for you. We recommend updating to the Slitherine or Steam version for future support as all new patches will only be available for these versions.
How Do I Download for MAC?
For MAC we will continue to use the existing Battlefront installers and protection system. All of the MAC installers have been placed in a folder where you can download them. Everything else will work as it did before.
We will not be supporting the old Battlefront PC installers going forward or their copy protection system.
You will need to select one of the options above to reinstall your game. You can also purchase any missing pieces of the series and bolt them on, as long as you install the Slitherine or Steam versions. DLCs purchased from Slitherine and Steam will not work with the old Battlefront installers, so you would have to migrate before installing.
Creating a Slitherine account is easy, and it gives you access to our site, your orders, serials, our forum, multiplayer systems, tournaments, join beta tests, and more.
If you’ve ever played a tournament or used our forums, you already have an account, so to avoid creating a duplicate, please reuse those credentials.
You can even link your Slitherine account to your Steam & Discord accounts. You’ll also be eligible to receive discount codes and our newsletter. To sign up for your Slitherine account, go to this link.
The entire team at Battlefront has joined Slitherine, including Steve, Charles, John, Cassio, Mike and Chris.
They did an amazing job making Combat Mission what it is, and we’re really looking forward to helping them take it to the next level. We have no intention of altering anything in Combat Mission’s DNA, but we do want to help polish some elements of it, so we have added an additional five developers to the team who are Unity experts to ensure Combat Mission becomes the best it can be.
While the next generation of CM3 is being worked on, we also intend to round out the content in the existing CM2 engine games. You’ll still see them posting on the forums and answering tech support tickets, but you may see some new faces too.
The Battlefront store and website will be retired.
There is no reason for us to support multiple payment systems, so it saves time and money to move everyone across to the Slitherine store or Steam if you prefer. The website and support systems will also be closed and moved across to Slitherine.
The Battlefront accounts will continue to be accessible, and you will be able to see all your previous purchases and the download links, but as the store will be closed, all new purchases would have to be in the Slitherine or Steam store.
Your Battlefront account will remain accessible. The current Battlefront site will be replaced by a landing page, which will direct you to the Matrix Games site for purchasing Battlefront products and provide a login window where you can access your previous purchases and download links.
Your forum account will continue just as now.
There are no plans to change the forum. The only change is that it will be hosted on one of our servers instead of Battlefront's old server, but this should be completely transparent to you, the user experience and functionality will remain the same.
The Battlefront helpdesk will be retired, and support will be via the Battlefront forums or the Slitherine helpdesk.
The existing team at Battlefront will be using these systems to correspond with you, just like they did in the past. For any support issues, you can go to the forum here or contact the helpdesk at support@slitherine.co.uk.
Yes, you can get a Steam key for any game you bought from Battlefront that is available on Steam. See the "Use Steam" section above for details.
We are supporting all of the Combat Mission 2 engine games, which are the only games we’ve ever sold or sold via Steam.
There will be no support for the old CM1 engine games or games from other developers who Battlefront used to work with.
We can’t tell you too much about that for now.
All we can say is that a lot is happening, and it’s very exciting. When we have some firmer information, we’ll let you know, but please be patient as there is obviously a lot of “getting to know you” going on right now, and it will take a little time for the team to bed in and for progress to resume.
All we can say is that it's been a great start, and the team is highly motivated to get going and show you what they can do!
Yes, Slitherine will have access to some personal information about you that we require for setting up your account, processing your orders, and supporting previous customers.
The rules in the UK are extremely tight on the processing of people’s personal data, much more so than the rules for the USA, where Battlefront was incorporated. Slitherine is registered for GDPR and adheres to all of the rules and regulations. We also have a team dedicated to ensuring the security of our servers and your data, and we have never had a data breach.
You can request us to remove you from our databases if you would like, but if you do so, we have to remove everything and will have no record of your purchases, serial numbers, and any other information, so we are unable to support you or give you access to downloads.
If you have any issues, please reach out to the support team at support@slitherine.co.uk.
We have tried to make this process as simple as possible, but inevitably there will be issues. The support team will try and deal with your requests as quickly as possible, but we do expect there to be higher than usual demand immediately after this announcement. Thanks in advance for your patience
