Oh - no worries! I just want to make sure Michael has other toys to play with after my SCTF with the Oi, Kiso, & Kitakami sink his little Boise with 120 long lance torpedoes... Banzai! :D :D :D

OK. Just went thru both Fleet and Air. They are set.

Took some advice and did a bit more Dutch preparation in the DEI.

We are on to TESTING! I have an opponent for the Fleet variant. Michael and One-Eyed Jacks are going to try out the Air variant. Hope we get AARs for commentary and observations.

My focus will now shift to getting a new website off the ground so people can access and download the Mods.

Is there anyone else out there who might want to take a shot at testing one of the Mods?

Home after a quick trip up the mountain to Baggs, WY. Am going to suck up to the wife to see if we can get the framework on my new webpage put together. Can upload the 3 BTS Mods as well as the Allied Airframe Replacement System, slow China Roads, and detailed scenario descriptions. Once that is complete, I will shift gears to dusting off and updating the Treaty Mod and original RA Mod.

Just got caught up. Nice updates. I had no clue that the US thought about offering the KNIL two old battleships.

When I saw it, I said YES! Love the idea. They are exceedingly old and slow but the turrets do WORK!

Michael and I had another chat and I did some serious starting positions and DEI work for the Allies. Additionally, did some BF--Air HQ modifications for both sides due to comments from On-Eyed Jacks and MIchael.

The starting positions is very, VERY interesting and I will detail later this afternoon.

Update
BTS-Air

Since One-Eyed Jacks and NYGiants are play-testing this variant of the Mod, I have gotten a lot of feedback. One of Michael's key points is that we reflect the Dutch and British having a stronger/earlier reaction to the Japanese preparing to go to war. As we discussed this, I realized that we have been disjointed in the actions and needed to create a more thoughtful deployment and base status analysis.

From that we created a set of minor, though real changes:

At Start:
British
1. A better deployment of the Malay Army for war's start. The Indian Divisions start with being able to combine elements into parent IDs very quickly. Troops at Kuantan and Singora are there as tripwires and not as stopping forces. A few Base Forces are moved to inhabit the bottom peninsula AFs so planes can move there instead of ALL going to Singers.
2. These troops start in a slightly less disabled state and have slightly better experience and morale reflecting more drills and training for the coming invasions.
3. Mersing starts with Fort 2 and an AF-1. The normal starting forces are there with a Base Force added.
4. A second Brewster Squadron has been converted to Hurricanes.
5. The Reinforced Force Z is midway between Batavia and Singapore returning from a conference there.
6. The three Indian Brigades that start at Colombo and Karachi are now moved much closer to the action.
--TF427 carrying two Indian Brigades begins at Trinkat heading for Singapore. The escort is beefed up with HMS Belfast now being joined by the HMS Capetown.
--This convoy is important so HMS Invincible TF (CV, CA, 2 CLAA, and 6 DD) are providing close escort and aircover.
--TF423 carrying a full Brigade of Indian troops takes safer route behind Sumatra and is at Enggano for war's start.

Dutch
1. Several Dutch Fighter units are allowed to upgrade to Hurricane or P-40.
2. Several Dutch Air Search Groups are allowed to upgrade to PBY.
3. Plane production is extended so they maintain their usefulness for a much longer period.
4. Base Forces are better deployed allowing for more aircraft movement.
5. A number of LCU start a little better prepared, slightly more experienced and slightly less disabled.
6. Dutch Fortification work is occurring with Medan, Palembang, Tarakan, Balikpapan, Ambon, and Kendari seeing their Forts raised by 1.
7. A slight bump on Dutch Pilot pool and numbers has been added.

These changes/additions may seem minor but a GOOD Allied player might really be able to accomplish something here. Those troop convoys are HUGE. They are close and can get in before it all goes to complete HELL! Imagine both Malay Indian IDs able to combine within days. How about Singers gaining two full strength Brigades? OR They could deploy into Rangoon. What about an Indian Brigade at Palembang within 3 days of the war starting??? Hmmm... What do you do with a Carrier TF RIGHT THERE??!! Could be a lot of fun...

Base Forces
Japan
At One-Eyed Jacks encouragement, the Japanese IJN BF, Air Flotilla, and Air Fleet units see their Aviation Support increased by 9, 27, and 54 respectively.

USA
Michael and others NEED more aviation support later in the war as Allied 4EB and 2EB flood the Pacific. Went through many of the mid-war upgrades and added serious support along the lines of what I detailed above for Japan.

How about giving the Dutch a CD reinforcement for their aircraft and then allowing them to use the respective Allied pools? But the airframes for the Dutch would go into the respective Allied pool because even if the Dutch surrendered before they received the aircraft, the aircraft could still be available for the Allies. If the Dutch survive in the DEI, I am sure that the British would have let them use more Hurricanes while the Americans would have found more P-40s, B-25s, and DB-7s (A-20s) for them use as long as they had the pilots. My understanding is that they received these American aircraft as one big shipment and thus this may be more historically accurate. Even if the Dutch withdrew what they could and didn't surrender, I am sure that the other Allies would have provided weapon systems for them. I always would try to buy out and remove every Dutch unit that I could because even with just the universal devices they are still useful, even if they only have support elements they can help units recover faster.

"As long as the turrets still worked" ???? How about as long as the entire weapons system still worked! ;)

I also have some ideas on how to make the USSR more vulnerable yet also help them in the game before the war starts for them in Asia.

In my sandbox, I gave the Dutch a wider variety of airframes to start.

In this alternate history, the KNIL and MLD get their act together and acquire several Fokker designs and a few foreign models before the war. Most are obsolete, but boost the number of airframes available until lend-lease kicks in. In addition to the models below, the MLD had ten Do J Wal's on hand.

Nice, Dutch update. What about giving the KNIL a chance to pull off their armor/mech brigade reorganization. They had just started it before the war.

Edited
They ordered 3 different types of Marmon Herrington tanketts/tanks. Wanted to create 5 or so brigades.

The KNIL had also ordered 400 M3 Scout Cars from the US, but America only delivered 40 before the Japanese conquest.

I'm also more generous with Overvalwagens. I attach a half-dozen or so to KNIL infantry regiments and Landstorm battalions, and boost local production.

This page has great info about KNIL vehicle orders, with several interesting what-if scenarios:

So I am playing RA 8.1 against an old opponent and I am noticing I am missing art for some new items. I know the A6M3b Zero has no art and I think the new BCs don't either. Does anyone know where I can get the art pack for this mod? I tried the old website but downloads are secured by a password.
