Veve - First Clash - Allied Side - Yakstock

Post by Yakstock »

Well Tzar007 and I have agreed to play a game and post a running AAR on the forum. He has picked “First Clash at Veve” and he will be the German’s. I hope that we are able to convince people how great head to head can be, and I am looking forward to playing this match. For my post I will be using a format I have used in the past and publish a PowerPoint to a web page. The link for the beginning of my game is below. Once it opens up (pop-up blockers may cause a bit of problem) you should click on the “slide show” button for the best view. I hope you are able to view it and enjoy it. Tzar007 will be posting in a separate forum post so we do not see each others.

Day two is now added to the presentation. The session covered the night of day 1 (little activity) and the majority of the daylight hours of day 2 (April 11th, 1941).

enjoy

After a several month break...Tzar and I have started the game back up (two patches later). I have added our last session which covered the evening of Day 2 into the late morning of day three. I also added some historical documents detailing the actions at Veve to compare to the game. I hope you enjoy - not sure if Tzar will continue his AAR or not.

View in slide show mode for best viewing.

What an AAR! I've never seen one done quite like that.

I played this scenario once against the AI. As the Allied side it was quite a thrill; thinking I was going to slaughter the Germans in the pass and then seeing my units overwhelmed. This must be a very tough fight against a good German player. Good luck.
