Runtime Error - Pls help

When click PLAY button in start menu, following message came out and game did not start.

Runtime Error!

Program C:Matrix Games/UFO Extraterrestrials/UFO_ET.exe

This application has requested the Timetime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information..

I'm running all the proper specs, cd's in the drive and using Direct X 9.0. Any ideas? Downloaded and installed the 2nd patch but didn't change the situation. Pls pls Help !!! [&o]
