Need help with scen 2 of campaign 2

This scen I find unwinable. I would very much like to continue the campagin. Are there any cheats or hints people could give me?

Keep establishing new colonies and keep researching. The Hive isn't nearly as scary once you have superior tech ships.

Don't get a defensive mind set, the Hive grows faster than you do and can settle more kinds of worlds than you can. Accept that a lot of your settlers are going to be bug chow and don't lose sleep over it.

Picket all systems with a single cheap DD unit. The AI is fond of sending out colony ships without an escort. Every Hive colony ship you kill is a world you won't have to bombard later.

You don't have to kill all the Trogs to win this scenario. They're surrender once you've hurt them enough.
