Will this excelletn series ever have TCP/IP Support?

Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

The game already has DirectPlay support which is sorta TCP/IP (the exact details escape me but I remember studying up on UDP as well at the time). Negotiating firewalls etc in this day of advanced paranoia is another matter though.

Are you trying to play on a LAN or across the Internet?

Curiously, Rob.

ETF,

We've never really considered this because we feel that most people, including me, take far too long to play a turn to make online play a viable proposition. There is literally nothing that a defending player can do while the attacker has his turn. This is by design, and and makes PBEM work, but I just don't see anybody sitting there while their opponent scratches their head and deeply ponders the movement of a single unit.
