Similarities to John Tiller's Battleground Series

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

Similarities to John Tiller's Battleground Series

Post by jonthegun »

Hi guys, I am thinking of buying Horse and Musket as I have played Battleground Napoleon in Russia, Prelude to Waterloo and Waterloo to death and I was wondering what the similarities were with Horse and Musket?

In particular I want to know if, like in the Battleground games, there is an 'Extreme 3D zoom out' view to control troop movements etc, or something like this feature, as all the screenshots I have seen are fairly close in and don't seem to give you an overall view of the battlefield.

Thanks

You can zoom out (but still "3D"), but nothing like in Battlegrounds (from 3D to 2D and zoomed out 2D) here doesn't exists. On the second side, here are battles not so huge ... but is true, that in biggest battles here you need zoom out and check situation from this view ...
Excuse my English ... I hope is better then Your Czech ... 8-)
