Is a 1940 Barbarosss possible?

Post by craigbear »

Hypothetical situation:

Germany takes out Yugo, Denmark and Netherlands in 1939, early 40. Russia likewise demands the Rumanian territories.

Given this, how can garrison value for DoW be gained Sept/Oct 1940. Possible?

Variables... Germany has Rumania fight. Adds peacekeepers to attrition Russia. Expects to retake Rumania anyhow.

Japan/Italy... dow at same time as Germany... or earlier to draw Russian troops east.

Note... Belgium not attacked. West is to be on defensive... all out 1940 attack on Russia.

Realize Italy will have difficulty... but may be late US entry.

Thoughts?

I just won a game in which the Germans were sloppy early 1940 with the garrison, so the Soviets broke the pact and declared war on Germany (and not on Italy) as soon as it was save for US entry to do so...

Yes, it's possible, if the Allies allow you to do so (and make sure: as the Allied player, I would allow Germany to break the pact, if it wants to do so. An active France with a large airforce is a dream come true).
