How to report a fault with DW Tech Support

Post by luke.h »

Before you report a fault, please make sure your environment meets all DW requirements and the latest update is installed.

Reproduce the fault and provide us with Save Game file or screen shot with detailed descriptions.

Save Game - Turn Auto Save on and locate the last Save Game file before the fault occurred. Rename the file with your username and the date. You could put the description in a text file and zip it together with Save Game and simply post a thread the name of the zip file. Or write detailed description and the name of the uploaded Save Game file.

Screen Shot – Describe in details the steps that led to the fault and attach a screen Shot of the error.

We'll do our best so that you can keep having fun with DW.

When reporting a crash problem, it can also be very useful to provide us with a crash file.

Crash logs and save folders are not in the Documents folder.
They are in application data (which may require a folder option change to show "hidden files and folders".

Windows 7:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Code Force Limited\Distant Worlds\1.9.0.0

Replace the XXXXX with your username and the version with your version number.
