Fighter Intercept/Escort Ranges

Post by Sigma8510 »

I am not seeing the fighter intercept/escort ranges highlighted on the map when I select a unit. The manual version I have says they should be highlighted yellow/blue respectively. Maybe I have a setting wrong, or I am not doing it right? I am also using the Iron Cross counter and map mod. Maybe that is a factor. Any assistance on this is greatly appreciated!

I believe it is when you click on it multiple times it cycles. At least for CVs it does

Appreciate the response!

I tried this as well. Clicking on them once appears to bring up the movement range. Clicking on them twice doesn't appear to do anything. Clicking them three times cycles back to movement range. Or this is what I am interpreting is happening.

The mods might have different highlight colours, but it should be similar. Another way to ensure this is highlighted (Mercutio has indicated one method) is to go to the OPTIONS->ADVANCED screen and ensure these highlights are enabled, and to turn them on if not.

[Resolved?] RE: Fighter Intercept/Escort Ranges

I believe I understand my issue better now. I read section 6.6.5.2 as saying that I should expect to see areas of yellow or blue hexes around the selected fighter to indicate interception/escort ranges. After reading section 3.4.1 under advance options again, apparently these options highlight individual units around the fighter according to the relevant interception/escort range ability. It correlates to what I am seeing now. Is this correct?

You can also look at the properties of the unit and see. Escort range, IMO, is ridiculous as it is about 2x the normal range including rebasing.
Strike and intercept are reasonable. Sure, you have to count hexes, but it tells the story

UPDATE:
After testing various combinations using the original map, bleached map, and the Iron Cross map, I believe this issue is contained to the Iron Cross map. In all other maps the highlighted ranges show as described in the manual.
