Please note that for PBEM or Multiplayer games, both players should be on the same version. For single player games, previous save files will work fine with v1.01 Beta 1.

You guys rock! Patch works perfectly. Each and every mouse click instantly does what it's suppose to. And it took you a scant 4 days to do it. Kudos

This patch made AI turns waaay slower than they used to be.. at least 10x slower than 1.0.[:(]
Well it is a beta so i can't really complain... at least it did fix all the mouse issues and black screens.
Does my saves still work if i go back to release version and move all the save files there?

How do I download this??? After an insanely long and confusing procedure I finally got to some download link, and when I clicked it opened a small FTP login window asking me for username and password. None of the combinations I tried (my usernames for Matrix forums, member areas etc) worked!
Can you make this a tad bit more user friendly eh?
Not to mention that in game auto updater says I already have the most recent version etc.

The updater only works for official releases, not public betas. You can get the file from the Members section if you have registered your game. Click on Members, click on My Games, click on Registered for WitE and you should see the update.

I am in the Members section, I see the download. I click on it, some FTP window opens. My forum/member/party ID credentials don't work.
When I try to register WITE, it says my registration # is already used. Which it should not be as I didn't register the game after I bought it (unless the registration is automatic, of which I would not know a thing as I wasn't informed).
2 days with this game => not pleasant. Mouse clicks are unresponsible, and when the patch comes to solve that problem I am being treated like a KGB spy by what should be easy patch distribution system for everyone.
I am old time Matrixer and GG fan, but I don't like this.... fell for early forum enthusiasm this time I guess.

Not in the mood for joking right now.
Can anyone OFFICIALLY tell me:
a) Why does the Members section tell me my WITE "key is already used" when I try to register?
b) Why can't I download this beta patch anyway? (why security for a BETA PATCH at all?)
For a 80$ game my experience in the first two days was terribly dissappointing. I got only myself to blame though, should have been smarter.

IIrc, new shop registers it automatically for you right now.

Whatever.... WHY CAN'T I DOWNLOAD THE DAMN BETA PATCH THEN?
Matrix, you need to hire a web usability expert to tell you a thing or two, because this web-clicking ordeal to merely get a PATCH is ridicolous.

Hey Oleg Mastruko,
Check this:
tm.asp?m=2641195 [:)]
You can download it - I did it today.
Does not work for me.
I get the "key already used" but WITE is not on my list of registered games.
EVEN THOUGH I LEGALLY BOUGHT IT YESTERDAY.
Now, if I could only see the POINT of hassling your CUSTOMERS like this only to get a BETA PATCH, I would be at least half.happy person.
Plus, what the beta testers were doing to let this mouse clicking thing slip by, is beyond me.

OK Oleg Mastruko,
let's go:
1. Login -> members.
2. Search Gary Grigsby's WitE
3. Register with your Serial No.
that should be it!

1. Go to Members section
2. Login
3. Scroll down to GG WitE, follow the row over to 'Members' link, click
4 Download Beta Patch
Doesn't seem too hard to me, especially in light of the type of game you are playing!

Hi Oleg,
The procedure Ron just posted should work. Your game is already registered when you purchase now if you are logged in with your account when you purchase, but the message is less than ideal. It's on our near future wish list to replace that "key used" with "game already registered". Apologies for the frustration this caused.
In short, once logged in:
1. Click on Members
2. Click on My Games
3. Click on the 'Members' link next to WITE in your game list if the 'Registered' link is not working for you.
4. Click on the update download link.
Regards,
- Erik

Guys you don't read what I said.
1. WITE IS NOT ON MY REGISTERED GAMES LIST. So, it hasn't been registered automatically. When I try to register manually, it says "key already used".
2. I do get to the patch description and link. When I click on the link SMALL FTP SERVER WINDOWS OPENS, ASKS ME FOR USERNAME AND PASS, and none of my Matrix credentials work.
So these are two separate problems, both of them VERY ANNOYING.
Let me add two more SEPARATE AND ANNOYING PROBLEMS.
3. Why do you need so many clicks, questions, logins for a simple beta patch is beyond me. Why not provide simplest of clickable links here in the forum.
4. How can a bug this huge (unresposnive clicks in a 80$ game) slip past testing is beyond me as well.

Hi Oleg,
Ok, please calm down.
It sounds like you are experiencing some kind of bug with our Members Club that is not affecting other customers. While we investigate, can you please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com and I'll send you the beta update that way?
Regarding #3 and #4 - this affected one tester and it was not clear, at least to me, that this was not simply a function of his system and specs. It only seems to affect slower systems and we set the specs at the level where performance seemed good, not realizing that part of the poor performance we were seeing on even slower systems was due to this bug. On all our internal test systems, for example, this problem simply was not a factor. Once it was reported, we figured out what was causing it to be noticeable on slower systems and had a fix within a couple of days. I understand you are frustrated that you can't get at the fix due to a bug in your game registration, but those are two separate issues.

- Erik
