v10102a land fragments 'organising' problem

v10102a land fragments 'organising' problem

Have just upgraded my pbm game to the latest full patch v10102a. I am the allies game was started last sep 2009 ie several upgrades ago.

The ground reinforcements list now contains a large and growing number of unit fragments. These units are on the map and are 100% complete so where the fragments have come from is a mystery. This problem only started with the latest patch 10102a. I think the fragments are empty of elements. Screenshot attached.

If the developers need a save how/where do I post it ? Do you need the pbm password ?

How many turns have you played since this first appeared Andrew?

I have also seen this in my PBEM but have only played a single turn since the new patch. Just curious if they "heal" or just keep propagating.

I have similar problem on first turn. I just figured they were all unionizing and hope it will pass.

I have just received my 2nd pbm turn since the patch was applied - the land fragments are still there and there are quite a lot of them.

My main worry is whether this will damage my long running pbm game. We are now in aug 1943. So far the fragments are just a annoyance in the ground reinforcements list. My concern is where did they come from and are they likely to affect other areas of the game ?

I see several of them also. I looked more deeply into the first one showing. It's shown as a fragment of a unit that exists just fine on the map, as one unit (no fragments on map).

Seeing the same here. Fragments of units either loading or units already on the ground. [X(][&:]

My op report had a lot of the following notations the first turn played after applying the patch.
Corrected type on 5th Amphibious (Brigade): now Infantry Unit / Brigade
Corrected type on Yokosuka 2nd (SNLF): now Infantry Unit / SNLF
Corrected type on Yokosuka 2nd (SNLF): now Infantry Unit / SNLF
Corrected type on 5th Amphibious (Brigade): now Infantry Unit / Brigade
Corrected type on 33rd (Division): now Infantry Unit / Division
etc.

I cross referenced most of the units listed and they appear to be the ones responsible for the "organizing" units that appeared. I am thinking that the two events might be related.

I just checked my ops reports and I have no such messages at all.

Same for me. No extra messages in my ops report as the allies in my pbm game.

I just checked my reinforcement screen and it too show these fragments organizing. Hope nothing is messed up. I am not going to worry about it right now.

At the start of several scenarios using official Patch 3, I get messages in my Op Reports similar to those vonTirpitz is getting :
Scen 01/02/06/07/08/09/10

Corrected type on 48th Gurkha (Brigade): now Infantry Unit / Brigade

Scen 04

Corrected type on 1st USMC Raider (Battalion): now Infantry Unit / Battalion
Corrected type on 1st USMC Parachute (Battalion): now Infantry Unit / Battalion
Corrected type on 2nd USMC/2nd (Regiment): now Infantry Unit / Regiment

This a side affect of recovering lost LCUs that were hit by an earlier un/loading bug.
It is also by default recovering empty fragments.

This is due to a problem that LCUs don't behave same as other units in regard to how inactive units are treated.

so what does happen? Will the reinforcement list stay screwed with 200 units on top trying to organize? I also had already one of those fragments showing up in SF 110th combat engineers and this fragement had a couple of squads and equipment! [X(] I checked the main unit (which is in Australia) and it was at 100/100 so I disbanded the fragment in SF as I don´t want to have 200 of those fragements sitting around somewhere probably screwing up more.

What´s the solution for this? Or is everyone now stuck with hundreds of fragments appearing on the map. [&:]

One more thing, I´ve got two dozen Dutch air units trying to appear in Aden, the count down to 1 day and then revert back to 7 days the next turn, counting down to 1 again, reverting to 7 and never appearing. Means that also my air reinforcement list is some kind of borked with the two dozen Dutch units spamming my list. But this was already happening before installing the latest patch (never used the beta).

Any consequences aside from entries on the list? I haven't seen any actual harm so far.

As a side note, I'm pretty sure all of the fragments I see are related to units that I did earlier move by sea, so that's consistent with your explanation. I knew I had been hit by the 'stuff lost when unloading' bug, but I didn't realize so many units had been hit! I'm real glad you guys hunted down that one.

If a group can't find a base to come in at, then it delays for sometime and tries again.

If you have a save showing this, I can verify that is the case and not something else.

The organizing fragments should disappear after the turn runs.
However, the recovery happens when a save game is loaded. So they (or some other) will come back.

The fix to this just missed out being released in the last patch. I am in the process now of bring the LCUs into line with how other units are treated when removed from play.

I have 20 or more units "organizing" in the ground reinforcement schedule as well so I hope it is fixed soon.

Is this just a problem with ongoing games or should new games started under patch 3 expect to see the same issue?
