RE: B/12/5 Para - GTotH Combat Campaign - Operation Tonga

<t> Turns 9-12: Germans made a major push against the NE 5 pt VP hex and knocked out the super-squad (#12) and the Company XO who were holding the VP hex. Almost two full platoons of Germans rushed up the hill and took out the squad, which had been having an awesome game. They had destroyed the equi...

RE: B/12/5 Para - GTotH Combat Campaign - Operation Tonga

<t> Turns 5-8: The CO began this attempting to surround the Germans approaching the East Road VP Hex, along with units to the NE and SE of the VP building. Squads 4 & 9 attempted to assault the building in a rush, but were pushed right back out. This left the CO sort of hanging out to dry for a ...

RE: B/12/5 Para - GTotH Combat Campaign - Operation Tonga

<t> Well, the initial drops were pretty scattered, but that was to be expected. I was able to grab the SE 2 point VP Hex early, but the squad was then surrounded and pounded by a PzIV all game. Bad for them but at least they kept the behemoth occupied for the game, at the cost of a halfsquad. By the...

I'd like to offer my services as a company commander. What do I need to do to sign up?

Thanks

Game Slowness

<t> I have noticed something strange since I installed the most recent patch. The game seems to be running very slowly during various phases. Prior to the patch the AI defensive fire during my movement phase was quick and practically immediate. However, since the patch it is very slow and when I cli...

RE: Group Tigers on the Hunt Combat Campaign - Battle of Bréville

I think they look great. I agree with an earlier post that there should be just one side chosen (British or German). Parallel campaigns seems like it would be a lot of work to maintain. However, that's just my opinion :)

I too am ready to lead my company in this campaign. I'll keep an eye on the forum for any updates.

RE: Next GTotH Theater/Campaign

OK, well it seems like the AAR is not going to be too much of an issue. Count me in for the upcoming campaign. I've already completed the survey. Just keep me abreast of any changes if/when they arise. Thanks again. I'll try to lead my company to victory

RE: Next GTotH Theater/Campaign

I would definitely be interested in participating in the next GTotH Campaign. I've never written an AAR of any sort, but I would certainly be willing to try to describe the events of my company's campaign. Is there anything I would need to do to get involved?

Thanks much

RE: Mud???

<t> yeah, i just played the turn out, it really sucked. some of my armor units couldnt move more than 3 hexes. what a disaster. yes, we are playing with random weather, but i still think this is extreme for july, i must have had the worst luck on that weather roll.&...

Mud???

<t> I'm just starting turn 3 in my first PBEM game and i opened the game and saw all these brown blotches on the screen. at first i couldnt figure out what it was so i re-started the game, they were still there. then it occurred to me...mud. talk about a good way to stall an invasion. i assume this ...

TOE %

<t> Kind of theoretical question, but could be useful. If I reduced the TOE % for all my forces, would the excess be put into a pool? Then I could turn on certain individual armies/groups and have them fill to full capacity from the bloated pool. It's possibly gamey, and perhaps not very practical, ...

Fuel or Oil?

<t> since fuel is actually used in AE to keep factories working (as opposed to oil in WITP), are we to ship fuel or oil with the resources back to Japan to keep those factories churning? I'm at mid Jan 42 in a PBEM game, and I would like to know which is the most efficient method. If i've got my thi...

RE: A note to the British - carry on.

as a New Yorker who witnessed 9/11 first hand, i know what it's like to continue your daily routine in the face of such extremes.

keep living your life, to hell with everyone (terrorist or otherwise) who gets in your way!!!
