Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Posted: Jun 04, 2026

Slitherine Software UK Limited is a fast-growing games company with a catalogue of over 300 titles and an expanding international footprint. We have subsidiaries in the US, Italy, Poland and Greece, with further growth planned. Alongside our games catalogue, we also develop and sell specialist software to military clients, making for a genuinely broad and interesting business.

We work closely with game developers across our portfolio, which brings with it royalty accounting and partner reporting obligations alongside the core day-to-day finance work. The team operates across both standard accounting platforms and bespoke internal systems.

The finance team consists of the Head of Finance, an Accounts Assistant and a part-time
accountant covering our US subsidiary.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, AAT-qualified Accounts Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis, initially three days per week, with the potential to increase to four or five days as the company grows.

The core of the role is transactional finance: accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping. You will also get involved in royalty processing and developer reporting as part of a wider remit. We need someone who can come in, get up to speed quickly and work independently with minimal hand-holding. You will know your way around Sage and Excel, be comfortable with Google Workspace and be the kind of person who takes pride in keeping things accurate and well-organised.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Processing supplier invoices and managing payment runs
  • Raising sales invoices and managing the AR ledger
  • Chasing overdue accounts and resolving queries

Bank and Ledger Reconciliations

  • Performing regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts as part of the month-end process
  • Keeping ledgers accurate and up to date on an ongoing basis

Royalties and Developer Reporting

  • Processing and reconciling royalty statements
  • Preparing financial reports for development partners
  • Working across internal systems to ensure accurate and timely output

General Finance Support

  • Maintaining financial records and documentation
  • Supporting the Head of Finance with month-end tasks and ad-hoc requests

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent)
  • Solid, hands-on experience in an accounts assistant or bookkeeping role
  • Proficient in Sage accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills, comfortable with formulas, lookups and data management
  • Confident using Google Workspace
  • Methodical and well-organised, with high attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and get up to speed on new systems without extensive support

Desirable

  • Experience with royalty accounting or third-party partner reporting
  • Exposure to multi-entity or overseas subsidiary accounting

What We Are Looking For:
You are a professional who takes the work seriously and does it well. You manage your own time, you do not need to be chased and you bring enough experience to hit the ground running. You are comfortable in a small team, confident with numbers and someone who genuinely cares about getting the details right.

Details:

  • A part-time role with a consistent and manageable workload
  • The potential to increase hours as the business grows
  • An interesting role in the games industry with exposure to royalty and international reporting
  •  A professional, collaborative team environment
  • £30,000–£40,000 per annum full-time equivalent, pro rata to 3/5 (3 days per week), depending on experience.
