The world of Field of Glory: Kingdoms expands once more with Burghers and Bombards DLC, which brings new campaigns and new mechanics reflecting the dawn of a new era.

Two New Campaigns

The Late Campaign (1223–1470)

Play the new late campaign set in 1223. Take command of the powerful Mongols, just after their crushing victory over the Kievan Rus’ and their Cuman allies at the Battle of the Kalka River. It is a unique opportunity to lead a mighty nomadic empire at the height of its strength, one that could, if it pressed westward, change the balance of power in Europe itself.

The Mongols have more than a dozen diverse multi-choice events, several of them focused on their formidable warlords, men of great ability but also of difficult temperament, whose ambitions must be handled with care.

The late campaign allows you to play any nation present on the map, including England holding parts of France, the kingdoms fighting through the Reconquista in Spain, the Crusader States weakened but still enduring, and many others.

The Mega Campaign (1054–1470)

Play through more than four centuries of expansion, innovation, and transformation, from the Great Schism of 1054 to the dawn of the Renaissance. Witness the rise of cities, the spread of gunpowder, and the shifting balance of power across medieval Europe, in a grand campaign enriched with new events that preserve historical plausibility while letting you explore alternate paths and shape your own history.

Discover the new Advanced Economy, where the rise of the Burgher class, the growth of guilds, and the burden of inflation redefine how wealth and power interact. Then face the Age of Gunpowder, as bombards, handgunners, and cannon-armed galleys forever change the art of war and the fate of empires.

The Advanced Economy

A brand-new economic system overhauls the late-game balance, reflecting the emergence of wealth, trade, and inflation. Beginning around 1150, the Advanced Economy introduces:

  • The Burgher Class: A new social force that generates wealth but challenges royal and noble power.

  • Building Upkeep: Money now matters: advanced structures require gold to maintain, not just infrastructure points.

  • Inflation: Prosperity has a price. Manage inflation or watch your realm’s coffers crumble.

  • Guilds: Tier II and III buildings that unlock bonuses and unique events as urban industries grow — but beware their political influence.

The Age of Gunpowder

From the invention of bombards to the first handgunners, warfare changes forever. Build new facilities to produce gunpowder and its key ingredients, enabling you to:

  • Recruit handgunners and bombards for devastating firepower.

  • Launch galleys armed with cannons to dominate the seas.

  • Modernize your fortresses to withstand the might of artillery.

Gunpowder brings immense power but also unpredictability. Poor weather can turn your best marksmen into bystanders, and those who fail to adapt will see their walls crumble.

New Late-Game Additions

Expand your realm with new buildings like windmills, blast furnaces, and salpeter works. Lead the Ottomans, Portuguese, and other nations as they rise to prominence with unique advantages and gameplay features.
