Patch problems

OK, I'll try again. The original game loads fine but, when I apply the lattest patch, I get a message saying that an error occured in loading the game. I have installed and re-installed twice. I emailed the game-generated bug report to support. I have posted twice on the Matrix forums; no reply. Anybody want to tell me what could be wrong? Anybody want to tell me if the patch is worth it?

My advice at the moment would be to patch back to version 1.10. It was tested extensively and found to be very, very good except that the Nuclear option did not work well. That was not discovered in testing as no one used the nuclear option.

If one was to look back at the forums they would find that the when the nuclear bug was found a patch was made to address it (version 1.11). Unfortunately after that SOP seemed to be broken.

Now there is 1.12. I cannot comment about this patch as I have not installed it yet in consideration of an ongoing PBEM.

If you are having trouble with 1.12 you may want to go back to 1.10 unless of course you like 1.11. My advice would be 1.10. In my view it is a better patch...........unless of course you want to go radioactive.

Mote to support: Most of Matrix patches don't require previous patches. Please be explicit when this is not the case.

I got a feeling we will look into a comprehensive 1.13 update (larger download but one shot). We are also seeing some issues with clean Vista installs having DLL's the game needs. We'll keep working on things and keep you folks posted.
