Casualty Report

Post by nix »

Hello,

I repurchased TOAW 3. I am experiencing an issue where the casualty report does pop up at the end of the battle.

I have noticed my computer indicates the program is "not responding" during the battle phase.

It also does not show the battle being fought. I hear the sound effects, stats run at the bottom of the screen.

I am running the game on Windows 10 with basically a brand new Dell laptop.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

The not responding is a message that pops up when a program is taking an inordinate amount of time at a task. Typically if you wait the program completes what it is doing and everything continues. Try right clicking the Opart.exe file and selecting properties. Then open the Compatibility tab and under Compatibility Mode click on the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select one of the other windows versions. Since every computer is different you may have to try a few to find the one yours will run best under. Be sure to click on Apply at the bottom each time you select one.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Thank you for the fast reply. I updated the compatibility to Win 8. That corrected the "not responding" issue.

However, I still do not get the casualty report. It's been a while since I have played, but I thought it popped up after each battle and displayed the men and equipment lost. I see the statistics at the bottom of the screen, such as lost 10%.

On the top menu bar click on Play. Then in the resulting menu click on Player Options. Look for 'Detailed combat reports' and click the on/off button to say ON. That should do the trick I think.

Always a pleasure to help out a fellow wargamer.
