Don't know if it is a genuine bug or a removed feature, but when starting a new game there are no option for bigger zone starts (used to be 1 or 2 zones IIRC). Please bring this back :) Really dislike citystate start if other majors do get a complete zone!

For me, 22 minutes seems excessive.. I also play on bigger maps, and a turn does take longer on higher turn numbers, but think I never exceeded 5 minutes orso (and my PC is not the newest). It just feels too long (and no fun if you want to play!)

The "you need to be lucky" can be offset by planet generation too. For example a high pop before the desolation will yield more scavenger sites, so more minerals. Also some worlds just inherently have more minerals then other worlds. So the type of world you play also plays a big factor. M...

Hey Vic,

Attacking a minor, got the "5th column" event. But no other hexes available except the city hex. So they spawned inside the city (and got annihilated).

Can send save if you want.

As far as I know there is no ingame logic for techs. It is up to the player to avoid "worthless" techs. With water and vulcanic activity being the two most obvious categories, but even airplanes can fall into that category for a long time (say on a moon).

the tooltip just says "prerequisite condition not met" the other techs have listed what is needed, this one didn't, hence the question :)
