Re: Game review

Let's not make comments like this at people, thanks. If you disagree with this persons opinion, explain why. You sure are spreading happiness here and on the Steam forums. Everyone's just loving people policing language (mild language to begin with). Someone who complains that a WEGO (!) game inclu...

One of my favorites too. Great formations on both sides, and each side is fun to play.

Excellent tutorials. I like the Shock one. Right now trying to figure out what 1/2 shock means.

Re: Leveling the Steep Learning Curve

One thing that has started to sink in is the time segments for each turn. I have been getting more tuned with my thinking about planning for attacks in one day, and how that attack will develop from the morning turns to the afternoon turns. Multiple turns in one day could mean some morning attacks t...

Re: Leveling the Steep Learning Curve

An explanation on how to organize stacks and then how to take ground. It is obviously going to vary by situation, but what is the "best practice"? For instance, should a player stack all his shock units together and follow with non-shock units (e.g. infantry/artillery)? Should the player ...

Re: Poll: How Important is Steam to You?

I have grown to appreciate Steam. Would I not buy a game I want because it is not on Steam? No way. The more I use Steam, the more I am happy when games are on it. I have a lot more games than I had some years ago, and Steam is a nice way to manage the games, and spend my time on the game and not up...

Re: WEGO Road Ahead--What Direction?

WEGO fans turn out to be a very small population when it comes to payback for the level of work we do. This brutal assessment comes from the two game topics we have published using this method. So...Maybe Monty's Front isn't our next endeavor. I am open to pursuing other periods of warfare if there...

Re: ZOC Rule in Manual

Okay, sounds good. The more I play this game, the more I realize how important the ZOC's are to attack planning. If a enemy unit is retreated in an initial attack, does that change the ZOC in the hexes that used to be adjacent to the retreated enemy unit, once the friendly units start moving?

ZOC Rule in Manual

Rule in Manual "A unit cannot usually move from the ZOC of a unit into the ZOC of the same unit (i.e. a unit cannot move across an enemy unit front, it can only move away from that unit — an exception to this rule is that a Conscript unit with a stacking size of 1 will have a ZOC of 0, which me...

Re: Resolution

I have a 3840 x 2160, 32" monitor. I change the recommended screen resolution from 150% to 100% when playing the game and everything is much sharper.

RE: Monitor Resolution

No, I did not try to adjust the scaling. I remember doing that with War in the East 2 because of the same problem, but it did not do anything. A fix came out for War in the East 2 that made the counters and side panels larger when using large monitors.

RE: Monitor Resolution

Thanks Jason. That sure helps with the "large" buttons. Hopefully in the future there will be an option for a "Large" unit panel. Playing the first French Paratrooper scenario, what a blast!!

Monitor Resolution

<t> I have a 3840x2160 monitor. My problem is the unit panel on the side, and the buttons on the bottom of the screen are so small, its very difficult to read them. I tried running a 200% instead of the recommended 150%, but that did not make a difference. How can I make the side unit panel and bott...

RE: Desert War: Next Update Scenario

<t> I was thinking Anzio. I know its not a hypothetical scenario, but what if you put in some hypothetical options. When you compare Anzio to Salerno, it seems the Allies were very under powered at Anzio, which prevented a breakout. The Axis forces response seemed more on par with Salerno. I know th...
