Cargo load/Unload?

Post by Flannel »

On page 98 of the manual Paragraph 6 it states "Unloading begins immediately if the Unload Cargo option is selected. If not, the TF will not unload anything when it reaches its destination."
Q. when does one select this option ? when it docks? before it leaves port?

In Paragraph 8, same page, it states "Task Forces carrying cargo will automatically begin unloading once they reach their Destination as long as it is a coastal hex. If unloading in a friendly port the TF will dock."
Can someone clarify this please.

Do that immediately after you've put the TF together and given it orders to start loading. You use it if you want to stage supplies for base A through base B, without leaving any at B.

It means that you can set a transport TF to carry supplies, and have them unload over the beach in support of an amphibious assault. Useful if your Marines fail to overrun the enemy on D-Day. If the target for your transports is a friendly port, it'll dock and begin unloading.

1. You can change that option at any time, port of lading, en route, or at port of destination. If the ship is already unloading and you wish that to stop, you will want to hit two buttons: "cancel unloading" and "do not unload". The first will stop the unloading, the second will prevent it from starting to unload the next day (turn).

At the very latest you should give the unload command a turn prior to arrival as most transport TF's are allowed to retire. If you have retirement allowed but unloading disabled they will head home immedeatly...
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?
