Subs do hit mines

I just had a sub hit an enemy mine in a base hex that belonged to me. First time I have ever seen it so I thought I would say something.

Was it your sub and an enemy minefield?..... whatever, I dont think I have ever seen a sub hit a mine[X(]

Yes, I lost a US fleet boat to a mine in a PBEM last week....
