Faster Movement Mod

Post by Erik Rutins »

v1.00:

I prefer faster unit movement, so I made a simple mod to increase the unit speeds. No other changes. If you'd like to give it a try, just unzip the attached file to the /data sub-folder of your installation. I recommend backing up your /data folder first so that you can go back to the official files if you decide you prefer those.

If any of you decide to play with this mod, I'd appreciate your feedback as far as game balance or any issues it creates vs. the normal movement rates.

Regards,

- Erik

Hey, you are a developer, you can't mod a game [:D]

What do I care how fast the units zap along on my screen ... <penny drops> ah, you mean you've tinkered with the *movement factor* of the units.

Is data like this still in .txt files you have to edit manually or is there an editor for this included ?

Greetz,

Ok, first I'm not a developer on _this_ title, so this is strictly an unofficial mod. It's just what I prefer.

Second, I'm not an expert in modding CNAW but from what I've seen all the unit data is in tab-delimited text files. I opened them in Excel, adjusted the column widths and making the changes was a piece of cake after that.
