Russian Weather Issue

Post by stjeand »

This does not appear to work.

$Weather
if_Date=12/5/1941
lifespan=tillTrigger
text=Temperatures plummet to well below freezing as Russia faces the worst winter of the century
addReportTo=All
zone=9,10
condition=4
$End

It is December 5th in the game I am in and it is just snowing normally. Perhaps it needs to be changed to > 12/1?

Also there was a cold turn in November...not sure if you had addressed that at all in this patch.

Wait 1 turn. I forgot how the scripts trigger if it is on the date or after.

Says equal...so would assume on.

I guess the question is should all of December be a blizzard or not?

I don't remember. I think so?

I think I removed all clear turns from the winter seasons.

Well we had a clear/cold turn end of November...which honestly I do not think there should be.

Artic had clear/cold 2 turns in Oct and 1 turn in November...that seemed crazy.

Then Dec 5th was regular snow...so it looks like...2 turns in Dec / Jan / Feb / Mar would be blizzard...but until I get there I won't have proof...at least I hope so...based on the code.

#1 is this a new game?
#2 is this the severe winter game?
#3 is this the normal game?

It was in progress during the update.
It is severe weather.
Not sure what you mean by normal but yes just a normal scenario.

I know the corps conversion kicked in...I had a turn where I got 5 converted...never had that in the past. It has seemed to stop but that could just be bad luck.

Not sure if the weather would "kick in" or that is something loaded when the scenario starts.

I did notice though that in the Med it looks like all the beaches seems to stay available for landing, which I read you added.

Pretty sure scripts are a snap shot when a game is created, so to pick up the changed script, you would have to start a new game.

Correct...plus if I remember...you and your opponent need to have the same scenario code on both sides, basically to prevent one person from changing the scenario and the other not knowing about it.

I dont know what I meant by #3. Brain fart.

Some rules were hard coded like the corp flips.
Some rules are soft coded like the weather. They are linked to scripts.
