Problems with Game Editors

Post by markh2011 »

I am trying to use the game editors to make my own "what if' style scenario based on different PPs for different countries. When I open the "Call to Arms" scenario in editor to modify it and try and save it under the name 'aaa.cgn' two things happen.

Firstly it states 'scripts need updating' and asks whether I which to update or not. Regardless of my selection-i.e. whether I update or not - the following happens.

Secondly upon trying to save "aaa.cgn" I get the following message:

"FAILED (recursive_directory_copy) permission denied" .

I am using Win 7 Professional and using 'administrator' permissions. I have checked the "Campaign"sub-directory in "Windows Explorer" and the "aaa" director is there and so is "aaa.cgn" however it does not show up in the actual game when I go to try to load a new campaign.

Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Marchh2011,

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps you have a Windows <username> with unusual UNICODE characters? For example a name such as Michał or similar?

If so then the Editor might fail when trying to do the Save As, and if you reinstall the game with another username with no special UNICODE characters it whould work after that.
