Mech units fuel bug (12.06)

Post by timmyab »

12.06 has a serious bug in it.
Any time a mech unit's fuel reserve drops below 0% it gets refueled to 100%. This means that mech units are unchained from the supply system and can resupply fuel to 100% even if isolated.
Here's an example. Both screenshots are from the same turn. In this example the railhead is only 11 hexes away but it would be the same result even if the unit were isolated.

I've been playing wacky races to kill some time. 13th pz division won this one by a short head.

I can definitely confirm this issue as can some other users on the Discord. Has there been any movement on a hotfix or something for version 12.06?

I have to be honest I've not seriously played the game with the new supply rules but as I understand it any town/city or HQ can act a supply source. Isolation occures when the rail network cannot connect a unit to a permanent off map supply source. So even in a pocket units can still draw supply/fuel provided the town/city/HQ has it.

This may be the reason for what you are seeing.

Perhaps, but why do the panzer divisions get those supplies during the German turn rather than the next turn? They get refueled right away once you drive them down to 0%. You could drive a German mech division all the way to the Ural Mountains using this type of bug.

Some supply routine running amok, refueling tanks on-the-fly is certainly not intended

Maybe they took a supply hex on the far right edge that had fuel.

I doubt that, but if they did it would be nice if we were told of that possibility.

I can imagine that the devs are occupied with WITE2, but I wonder if we can have a fix for this problem any time soon.
